Gameplay

Zhok looks at the armour. No traps are detected, but given the proportions of the armour, it could only be worn by a human. As you reach for th armour, your outstretched hand feels like it comes into contact with cold, thick molasses. It seems like there is some kind of invisible stasis field surrounding the armour. When you pull the armour free from the stasis field, it remains cold to the touch, but can be put on without further difficulty, provided the wearer is human.

Meanwhile, Alvin rushes forward and grabs the box. You run through the water, and find yourself against the far wall, holding the box. The sword clunks around inside the box as you move, but nothing else happens. You see a section of the iron grate in the floor has been forced upwards, allowing access into the room, but you don't see any movement from there. You could enter this forced-open section, the gap is big enough for a man to fit through.

Yvandra doesn't see any traps in the room she's in. It is just as described previously.

What do you want to do from here, players?

For Alvin:

You enter the grate, and find yourself in a long narrow drainage tunnel, that leads off to the north. The walls are close on either side of you, and water continually drops down from above, being carried away down the length of the drainage tunnel. As you progress along this corridor, you not that you are continually descending, going deeper into the earth. Continuing down this path, you eventually come to an angled corridor, that leads downwards at a 45 degree angle, almost like a slide. The downward angle corridor abruptly terminates, becoming a small waterfall. Below, you can see a large pool of some kind, and what looks like the beginning of some kind of natural cavern.

For everyone else:

None of you see any traps or hazards, either in relation to the armour, or in relation to the pool room. You can go south into the pool room with the sword, or north into the room where the armour was. You are now holding the armour between you. The armour seems normal, and if any of you are humans, the armour can be worn by you. Otherwise, it looks like you'll have to backtrack the way you came.

As the group makes their way around the perimeter of the pool room, you find no secret doors. However, once you get to the back of the room, a thick column of water rises up, moving fluidly like a serpent. This snake-like tendril of water bends towards you, and you see the impression of a humanoid face at the end. In a voice like crashing waves, this strange elemental creature asks "who are you, and why do you enter my sacred pool?"

Meanwhile...

Alvin jumps down into the pool of water. It is deep and cold, but you survive. Rising to the surface, you see that you are in a cavern of some kind. There is a luminescent glow in this chamber, and looking for the source, you see a glowing blue orb, that looks like it's about 20 feet away from you. Other than this weak source of light, the cavern is pitch black. You think you can see the edge of the pool, in the same direction as this blue orb. You still have the glass box with the sword inside, it is intact.
