Miyana aids in restoring the cellar to its original condition, still not fully comprehending what has happened here.

We’ll get out of your way, Will says when the area is finally clean. We’ll just take our collateral back please. It’s been a pleasure!
Jul 4, 2025 7:47 pm
The sun has set by the time you put everything in place (more or less) and settle the tab with Karl. He insists on taking 50 gold from your collateral, for the wooden floor you had to took apart, and you get the sense he is quite happy to see you leave, and soon turns his attention to his guests, who have already started flooding his renowned tavern.

What do you do?

Boudica grumbles about a Thyatian owning this place when it sits atop such a holy site, but she supposed it was no different than having Halav’s grave site overrun with goblins. Perhaps one day she will command enough money and power to be able to buy this place and clear out the other.

Once out, she hefted the staff and said, "Um, where to now? An Inn to sleep?"
Jul 5, 2025 1:00 am
Yes. The nearest Inn. I’d stay have a pint here, but…Karl is probably glad to have us out of his medievally-minded hair.

Kelvin’s a great big town, let’s see what we can get into!

Boudica sighs and says, "Let’s at least try to find a Traladaran place, if possible. If not, well, then somewhere quiet."

You leave the 'three rivers' tavern behind and make your way through the winding lanes of old Lav, toward the new city. You have to ask people on the streets for direction, but eventually you reach the closet Traladaran tavern just as the soft rains turns heavier. 'The Frisky Feline' is written on a crooked sign outside the door, but you could have half-guessed its name based on the cluster of cats gathered outside, lapping from bowls with scraps the owner left out for them.

Inside, you are greeted by the scents of traditional Traladaran dishes; pot roasts red with paprika and overflowing with garlic and onions, root soups, and freshly baked bread. The owner, Vera, a middle aged woman with a red scarf tied around her hair, greats you when you come in:

"Evening, dears! Come in, come in. Find yourselves a table, I'll be right with you!"
Jul 5, 2025 1:24 pm
Boudica enters and draws in a big breath, smelling the aromas. "Ah, that smells amazing! Reminds me of my mother’s food…" Then she greets the innkeeper in Traladaran, saying, "Good evening, ma’am! We’re weary travelers just arrived in Lavv, looking for good food and a warm hearth. How are you this evening?"
Jul 5, 2025 1:46 pm
Will attempts to find a table, and takes a seat. Looking forward to perhaps a meal he can actually taste!

Vera beams at Boudica "It's a fine evening, dear. I hope you are doing fine as well? Do sit down, I'll have food here soon enough. Make yourself at home"

With that, she bustles off into the kitchen, returning a short while later with a heavy tray with steaming clay bowls. She sets one in front of each of you: cuts of rabbit and pork floating in thick red broth spiced with paprika and sweet onions, carrots, parsnips, and chunks of potato. Besides each bowl, she also places a loaf of freshly baked bread, steam still rising out of it.

"There you go, dears. Would you like some 'Spirytus’ to go with it?" she holds the pitcher in her hands. Traladaran alcoholic beverages are much stronger than Thyathian beer, or even wine. Just a shot of 'Spirytus' would be enough to make your head buzz lightly.
Jul 5, 2025 7:59 pm
Yes please, a bit of Spirytus would do nicely I’m sure, Will replies kindly.

He gazes at a glass of water. Then, at a nearby glass of wine. You don’t think, he asks Boudica. Maybe?

He focuses his gaze upon the glass of water. And…wishes for a glass of wine. Just as an experiment.

Miyana sighs gratefully, glad for the evening after a day's labor. "Spirytus would be lovely," she replies when asked. Then she looks quizically at Will. "What are you doing?"
Jul 6, 2025 3:04 am
Boudica nods and follows her companions in accepting the Spirytus and orders a classic traditional Traladaran dish for dinner as well.

The innkeeper pours the clear liquid into your cups, and leaves the bottle on your table. She scratches a quick note in her worn little ledger before bustling off, leaving you to enjoy your meal. You barely get started when the tavern door opens. In the doorway stands a man who couldn't look more out of place; a Thyatian priest in clean white robes, the sigil of the Church hanging over his chest.

Some heads turn, and a few men mutter under their breath, leaning away from him as if his presence might sour their soup. The priest stands stiffly, eyes darting from one table to the next, until they settle on your group. He draws a breath to steady himself, then steps forward and stops at your table, his hands fidgeting nervously by his sides

"Good evening. Forgive my intrusion… but are you travelers, by chance?"
OOC:
Will has no success turning water into wine. Maybe he should try walking on water first?
@WanderOne; lets assume Barns is sitting at one of the adjacent tables. The priest addresses both you and the party of adventurers sitting nearby.

So, this priest spots well. Barns keeps a holy symbol of the Church of Thyatis hung around his neck on a leather cord.

From an adjacent table, curious Barns inquires, "Would your excellence be looking for some out-of-town help? I answer to Barns.

As Barns is a free man and some extra coin wouldn't hurt. And those that don't look, don't find. Traveler Barns is quick to the point as he sees opportunity knocking. This priest has caught his interest.

Description: Barns is middle age Thytian. He is a good five feet, eleven inches tall and lean. He has classic blue eyes and his hair light brown with a lot of blonde in it. He is dressed in a long-sleeved linen shirt, buttons up front, with long trousers that is common for the area. His longsword, dagger & handaxe hanging off his side is not common. There is symbol of the Church of Thyatis handing on a leather cord around his neck showing some religion. He has a backpack with a quiver of arrows and a longbow in leather sack as well as a hooded lantern strapped to it. Add a traveling waterskin & belt pouch to him and you know he is adventurous.

Miyana pauses in mid-drink, listening to the priest's words.
Jul 6, 2025 2:19 pm
Boudica does not respond to the priest and continues to eat her succulent Traladaran meal, though she is listening to the exchange with interest.
Jul 6, 2025 2:27 pm
I was just testing the waters, Will replies to Miyana.
Well met, come join us, our fightery fellow says to Barns. Have some Spirytus with us, if that’s your thing!

the priest glances around nervously, lowering his voice as much as he can to guarantee he isn't being overheard by anyone other than you.

"My name is Bernard" he looks around the other patrons, to check if any of them took interest in him, before turning back to you: "I serve the Church here in Kelvin, but I have a matter of great urgency" he pulls a folded parchment from within his robes "This letter must reach Patriarch Jowett in Specularum without delay. I cannot trust the usual couriers. I need someone discreet...and capable"

To Will, he responds back, "Why that sounds rather inviting and yes I too like the flavor of Spirytus." and he adds on with a smile, "And careful not to enjoy too much."

As he is taking seat at the table, he replies back to the Priest, "Some immediate delivery services would not be a problem."
