Despite all the tales and stories she'd heard, Bee had never met a real Mutant. So the first sight of one, in such a violative act couldn't help but unnerve her.

Half meditating, half watching the coaches, Artur is suddenly alerted by Ralph's shout. He takes a look at where the danger comes from, while looking for his staff.
OOC:
Do I get the right to have a staff, as discussed earlier?

Yes, you have a staff. You are also not afraid.

Revolted by the sight of the creature attacking the coach, Artur approaches as much as he can and strikes his enemy with all his might!

Staff attack (vs 34) & localisation - (1d100, 1d100)

The mutant roars in agony as his flailing, scaled left arm has that staff crack down on it! He screams in an inhuman rage, coughing up thick, disgusting mucus, the rough staff, little more than a long stick rebuffed somewhat by thick, almost reptilian hide.

Bee, you’re up!

Despite her disgust, Bee drew her sword and tried to strike the mutant, but her attack was off and went well wide of the mark.

Raging in abject pain and anguish, the mutant turned away from the blow!
OOC:
Agnes, your turn!
Jun 29, 2025 5:20 am
Agnes nearly falls over in fear. She is not getting near that thing and it takes true mental fortitude just to put a stone in her sling. She spins the leather cord and releases the bullet at the mutant.

Perhaps she ought to have kept her eyes open though as the stone flies off into a random direction.

The growling mutant gave a hideous laugh, the stone crashing into a nearby tree.
OOC:
You’re up, Grotnar!
Jul 1, 2025 3:04 am
Grotnar stumbles in his fear at the surprise of the attack, but tries to recover himself while he watches his comrades engage. He gets himself up, despite the initial terror in his chest, and rushes to attack.

He swings his sword with as much strength as he could muster, making contact with a slice of his trusty blade. (Damage 7)

With a sickening "Whack!!!" The soldier’s weapon split through the mutant’s skull, spraying blood and brain matter over every single one of the group. The mutant growled even in death, pus covered jaws snapping as he writhed in silent suffering a few seconds… too stubborn to know he was dead. The coachmen were busy vomiting at the disgusting sight, her ladyship’s maid in the coach poking out her head to airily cry out:

"Her lady ship demands to know what the holdup is!"
OOC:
We are officially out of combat, everyone please make an Average (+20) Endurance roll and remember, add the 20 to your skill, not your roll. If you fail, gain 1 Corruption point.

OOC:
Considering my rolls so far, luckily my Resistance means I don't have to roll!
Jul 1, 2025 12:51 pm
Artur cannot erase the grimace on his face for a little while, after which he eventually gets some composure. He dusts himself and cleans his dress as much as he can, trying to expose his skin as little as he can to the mutant's remains.

Then he goes down and opens the coach's door. "The convoy was attacked by a mutant. We were fortunate to dispose of it quickly. It will take some time before everyone is fit enough to resume travelling." He darts his eyes right into those of the lady. "You will have to be patient."

Ralf was too shocked and surprised to act effectively in the battle. He eyed the remains of the mutant as its dark, filthy mutant blood got sprayed over it. He quickly tried to wash it away in the rain, fearing if it would affect him in any way.
OOC:
I am spending a fortune to reroll this. Okay, I accept the 1 corruption.

Grotnar shows that the friendship of dwarves is as valuable as ever, his axe ending the threat. Agnes slowly begins to pick herself back up but the shadow of the encounter lingers.

Yikes! A Fumble! You also suffer a Fatigued condition because of the horror of the situation somewhat making you feel a hideous sense of unnerving dread.

Breathing heavily, Grotnar just looks at the body under the axe without concern with the blood that now stains everyone. He'll lift the axe head out and give it a shake.

Turning back to the coach, he'll yell at the coachmen, [b]"Get it together you two, we need to keep moving. Back to work.["/b]
