You shortly come across the broken tower you saw from the wall. You can see in the ground floor there is a bonfire. This tower bears the broken remains of religious iconography. It seems that the tower was once a temple for pilgrims. It is unclear why the tower has fallen, or what the pilgrims worshiped. The rooms that once stood higher than the 1st floor lays toppled on the ground behind it.

Harmia will rest at the bonfire after lighting it. She will use this time to attempt to identify the value of the bandit souls and the soul from the plant creature.

Bandit Soul: the soul of a bandit of the Ashen Forrest. The desperate settled in these woods to steal from those whose pilgrimage lead the to me the Ashen Tomb. Offer at a bonfire for 150xp or use for trading.

Soul of the Ashen Forest: The Ashen Forest had once rested in peaceful recline, but it has since been stirred to anguish by it's mistreatment. Offer at a bonfire for 4000xp, use for trading or use to create a powerful item.

Harmia will take some time to expend the Soul of the Ashen Forest, the troll soul, five bandit souls and eight fading souls (for EXP). Afterwards, she will look around the collapsed portion of the tower for anything of interest.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+6)

(20) + 6 = 26

OOC:
Just in case it will change your actions, I should mention that as the Soul of the Ashen Forest is a boss soul you will never drop it on death.
Through some heavy ruble in what would have been the second or third floor you see a corpse of some worshiper as identifiable by his garb. It'll be hard to get at the corpse with the stones on top of it. In the next toppled floor you can see a chest. On the next floor you can see a feeble estus gem in a pile of ruble; it wont be hard to pick it out.
Jan 5, 2017 6:06 pm
OOC:
I'll hold onto the big soul for now, then, but I'll probably be using it soon.
Harmia will skip the corpse and will go immediately to the estus gem. Afterwards she'll double back and inspect the chest, checking to see if she can open it.
Jan 6, 2017 5:59 am
It doesn't apear to have a locking mechanism and is clear of rubble.

OOC:
please not a mimic, please not a mimic...
She will open it.

You throw the lid open exposing a horrible maw of sharp teeth and a pair of hand that reach out to grab you, As you try to pull back to your horror your hands have adhered to the chests surface. It slams you with its arms and tries to drag you into its mouth.
OOC:
You are grappled, take disadvantage on all escape checks, DC 13.

Your desperate slashes fells the mimic, it melts into silvery mist and leaves in it's place no souls but a golden javelin emblazoned with ensigns of the sun.
Jan 10, 2017 8:11 am
Panting, Harmia will sheathe her swords and scoop up the javelin. Carrying it back to the bonfire, she'll rest up and inspect her reward to see if it's anything special.
Jan 10, 2017 11:27 pm
Javelin of Solar Knight: When you utter a prayer to the sun this Javelin becomes a bolt of lightning, forming a line 5 feet wide that extends out from you to a target within 120 feet. Each creature in the line excluding you and the target must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d6 lightning damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The lightning bolt turns back into a javelin when it reaches the target. Make a ranged weapon attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes damage from the javelin plus 4d6 lightning damage. The javelin’s property can’t be used again until the next dawn. In the meantime, the javelin can still be used as a magic weapon.

In the days long gone knights served the lord of light himself, and with these sacred bolts vanquished those who came before and secured for us the lands to live in.
