"If anyone gives ye trouble. Twist the thing and it'll create enough smoke to make away fast. A gift for the company. Take care out there Zyra. If we bump into each other in that tiny tavern. I'll buy ye a draught of my favorite! Till then, eh?"
He waved as she departed, ignoring the mild sting from his side till she was out of sight. He turned back to the others, resting a hand on the wound.
"Ye wouldn't happen to have a bandage somewhere? My coat has played the part a bit too long. As for the apprenticeship. Course I accept! Once I'm not leakin' into my pockets. I can start work soon as ye need!"OOC:
No clue how the sandbox part takes over after this. I tried to write in a way for you to add in reply if you need, but also covers what he does next. This feels tied up, but I can keep going here if needed. I added the info for the "smoke grenade" so you can add it to your sheet.

As an action, you can throw a smoke grenade at a point up to 50 feet away. The grenade explodes at that point, creating heavy smoke in a 20-foot-radius sphere and lasts for 1 minute. A strong wind (including those invoked by a character with an appropriate scroll or magic Trait) disperses the smoke.
Until dispersed, all Attacks and Perception Checks are rolled with Disadvantage by anyone in or against targets within the grenade's area.

Cost: 50 GP
Crafting: To craft one, acquire 20 GP worth of material components, work for a day (downtime), and succeed at an Alchemy Test.
