OOC:
Based on those Gearspark, I would say you are our closer... I'll wait on htech to post and if appropriate, then I'll post about the negotiating Zyra's desired reward.

Grusk rolled his shoulders, as if shedding the tension of a hundred doubts. With a grunt, he reached into the pouch strapped to his belt and counted out coins with practiced fingers. He gave them for Orryn and Zyra.

"Twenty-five gold each, for your trouble," he said. "More than fair for the risk, and far less than you earned. Would never get that far with a hammer."

He looked to Zyra next, eyes narrowing in something that might’ve been appreciation. "And you—sharp of word, sharper of wit. I owe you a blade, and not some rusty iron bar. You come back in a ten-day. I’ll have something for you—magic, tuned to your strength. Consider it a bonus… and insurance. In case our new tenant grows restless."

Then to Orryn. "As for you, lad... you’re already half part of the stonework. You want apprenticeship? You’ve got it. You’ll learn the forge and the business both. I’ve got enough to teach, and from the look of things, you’re hungry for it."

He paused, then cast a glance at Hornrock. "He might teach you too, in time. Old ways, lost ways. We’ll figure that part as we go."

Hornrock’s eyes pulsed faintly. "Then let it be forged. Not in steel. But in work, and fire, and time."

Grusk snorted, amused. "Sounds like something that belongs on a plaque."

Social Conflict
Hornrock and Grusk share the underground area
OOC:
Conflict is over! Let's begin to wrap this up. What do you do?

Fair is fair. I'll be back in ten days. But i wish you both to know, I am at your service. If ever you have need, reach out via Branric, I'll leave word with him how to contact me. I may need your services in the future as well. Well met gentlemen.

Zyra bows to both master smiths and slowly heads to the door... She turns to Orryn before leaving the forge and says:

Orryn, you arrived just in time to help us figure out this puzzle, despite nearly blowing us up. You are a trustworthy companion and I would not hesitate to adventure with you again. Fare thee well, wherever you may fare, Branric will know how to find me...

Orryn pushed himself up with a grunt, snatching up his hat.

"Wish I could say that was the first time things have blown up around me. Ye got keen senses an' a silvered tongue. Folks like that can make it far in a city like this. I've a lot of work ahead, but I think we both might have bigger plans down the line. Consider me a friend! If ye need help, all ye gotta do is ask. Here, before ye leave."

He shrugs off his bag, retrieving the smooth metallic capsule and pressing it into Zyra's hand.

"If anyone gives ye trouble. Twist the thing and it'll create enough smoke to make away fast. A gift for the company. Take care out there Zyra. If we bump into each other in that tiny tavern. I'll buy ye a draught of my favorite! Till then, eh?"

He waved as she departed, ignoring the mild sting from his side till she was out of sight. He turned back to the others, resting a hand on the wound.

"Ye wouldn't happen to have a bandage somewhere? My coat has played the part a bit too long. As for the apprenticeship. Course I accept! Once I'm not leakin' into my pockets. I can start work soon as ye need!"
OOC:
No clue how the sandbox part takes over after this. I tried to write in a way for you to add in reply if you need, but also covers what he does next. This feels tied up, but I can keep going here if needed. I added the info for the "smoke grenade" so you can add it to your sheet.

Thanks for the grenade Gearspark. Check out the plot hooks, if one of them aligns for both of us, we can petition htech for us to team up again. We could use my return to the forge in 10 days (game time) to launch our next adventure.

The old fires would burn again. Under the city, in the forgotten dark, the clink of tools would rise, and from it, something new would be forged.
OOC:
End of chapter, end of the adventure
