Setting Rules/ Details

In no particular order:

Currency is the Sequin. Those with Good or above Resources are considered wealthy in the setting.

Mighty weapons. For purposes of combat, it is assumed that combatants use a melee weapon like a scimitar, spear, etc. A very large weapon (falchion, huge axe, etc) may do an extra two stresses of damage when wielded by a fighter with Good or more strength.

Unarmed characters have the ‘unarmed’ aspect, which reduces their ability in combat.

Languages apart from Arabic include Greek, Persian, Turkish, Byzantine, Syriac, Hebrew, and Sanskrit. Ability to use any of these requires a Fair (+2) lore roll. More exotic languages like Latin would be more difficult.

The City of Spires has nine quarters

NW: the barracks quarter N: the grand palace. NE: the mansion ( wealthy) district.
W: the caravan quarter CENTRE : grand bazaar E: the harbour district
SW: the hovels (poor quarter) S: the workshop quarter SE: residential district


Northern districts occupy a hill. Mosques, schools and entertainment streets can be found throughout.
