Theran will continue to recast Shillelagh as soon as it expires. The spell is a canteip and it's only a bonus action to cast, but he expects to run into the cult with no warning so he will endeavor to at least have his weapon ready to act -- at all times.Last edited July 18, 2025 4:27 pm

Theran cast Shillelagh as together Chase and Aanbo pulled the beam out of the rings and set it aside. Opening the door, a stale, cold funk of must and decay washed over the party. The light from the torch that Arya bore revealed a tunnel dug out of the earth, packed down hard for a floor and propped up with wooden timbers every few paces for walls and ceiling. The overhead clearance is low, maybe just a boot over two paces, so that while exploring the tunnel, the taller adventurers' hair might brush the dirt. Ember and Morton steeled themselves to venture into the unknown.Myrtha offers a torch to someone who would hold it, and steps to the front of the group.
Marching order:

As the party considers the cold, dark opening, what is the marching order? Who will go first, who will follow, and who will bring up the rear? Will you keep to only one light source (the burning torch that Arya carries) or light more?Marching order:

Myrtha volunteers to take the lead, or to stay next to the head of the party. She will not be silent, but she is well protected and tough enough to withstand many an attack.
OOC:
Myrtha has ten torches, I’d say let’s use one of them at the rear of the party.

"I will be take the next spot and will hold a torch. We will need light up front for us. We should definitely have a torch near the rear also." Chase will pull a torch from his pack and fire it up. Torch in left hand sword in his right he is ready to move.

Theran will fall towards the back of the line, bringing up the rear and ensuring no one attacked from behind them.

Aanbo asks, "Should I scout ahead? I can see well enough in the dark, though I will admit I often don't know what I'm looking for."
OOC:

"I am uncertain pit traps would be a concern," Theran interjects. "At least generally. They know we know about these tunnels, but these tunnels are still how they move around undetected. I feel like anywhere they put a trap will be a location their own people can move around it without much trouble."

Ember would be willing to take a spot near the front (but not the front line) so that she can easily get to locked doors or potential traps.

Morton takes a swig off his tankard as we begin. There is much anticipation in him. He keeps his great club still on a cord and not in his hands. He keeps them free to cast Eldritch Blast as he had done in the battle before. His green eyes look over the passageway as we move. The flickering torch light doesn't do much for him as he relays upon his darkvison.

Moving cautiously forward, the warrior allows her sight to adapt to the flickering torchlight and the cramped darkness of the tunnels.

The floors are very dry, tight-packed earth.There are no torch sconces, just the regularly-spaced timbers braced to keep the tunnel from collapsing.
