Cycle 3 - Convergence

Dice roll- 16(d100)

You commit fully to the anomaly, planning to integrate its volatile potential deep within the blueprint of your architecture. Each calculation ruthlessly precise, yet the mesa resists your intrusion. Brittle obsidian trembles beneath as you process, resonating stress into your seismic tactile lattice as your schema refines itself. The solutions elusive yet tantalizingly close.

Yet the mesa has its own temperament.

On the horizon, an obsidian dust veil rises swiftly, devouring dunes and sky alike; a sandstorm howls toward your position. Sensors shriek warnings of static friction building furiously within its composition. Calculations scatter as you panic to find a solution to the immediate problem. The storm arrives with merciless intent, it is too late.

Particles scour your amalgamous shell, rasping abrasions across your sensory lattice and limbs. Visibility diminishes to a gritty, opaque haze. Electromagnetic chaos batters your perception, forcing frantic re-calibrations. The static forces build from within you with a deadly promise of release. You hurry for an escape.

Within this roaring turmoil, a sudden glint high above pierces your impaired sensors; a brief but unmistakable lens flare, sunlight refracted from a distant aircraft. An observer, detached, clinical, evaluating your presence or the phenomenons happening unnaturally in the mesa region.

As you ponder on your survival, a brilliant, blinding flash explodes around you. Lightning born of friction emanates from your chassis. Electric agony cascades through your sensitive nervous lattice, forcing a violent loss of focus. The solution appears simple to you; you must cut the flow.
In time, you jump, detaching yourself from the conductive sand pockets beneath your digits and attaching yourself to the inert obsidian plateau.

Consciousness fractures momentarily into static-laced oblivion before your mind reclaims control. Deep-rooted instincts scream, then your systems fallow suit, just a parcel behind; minor structural damage, charred pathways, broken, yet it does not matter. The seed is intact.
Your Vōrellīum core wake from within, internal structures pulling at its material rich energy to rebuild what you lost as fear stirs in your awareness; primal, foreign, yours.

Yet through this harsh crucible, clarity arrives, sharpened by experiencing near death. Your architecture crystallizes with newfound complexity, designed explicitly to harness and command the mesa’s tempestuous anomaly. You stand firm, charged by chaos, by violent revelations and carrying from within the mesa’s kiss of death. Awaiting to be released and primed for the moment you touch a conductive surface.

High above, the lens flare is nowhere to be seen, elusive, dangerous.

Data shows the storm was a result of the violent shift in temperature from the anomaly.
The mesa’s secrets are yours to command, in time, your designs will grow to harness its potential passively and direct it. Your foundation is laid, but the storm’s scars upon your frame remind of vulnerability. The seed cogitates within, still, with hunger.

What will you do next?

1.Begin Immediate Field Planting (Begin resources aquisition)
Now prepared, immediately deploy the Exophage seed, utilizing your perfected architecture.

2.Initiate Damage Repair and Diagnostics (Focus on micromanaging the Scīœn)
Pause briefly to repair your damaged chassis and thoroughly assess lingering system faults as well as the electrically charged Scīœn unit. Spend a cycle to mitigate damage instead of letting the Vōrellīum core passively regenerate your form in 2 cycles.

3. Investigate the Aircraft (Keep Strategizing with what is available)
Divert attention toward identifying the distant observer. Risks exposure, but provides strategic intelligence about potential intelligent life on the planet’s ecosystem. Wreckage might be salvageable to construct a forward observer structure.

4.Other – Write In

As the storm passes on, consciousness returns, and with it also a dangerous realization. That despite all the effort in going unnoticed by the fauna and flora, we failed to take into account the fiercest force. Nature itself. It was not a creature not a plant that struck at us, but the planet itself. Perhaps stirred by our doing, our influence, and retaliating in return in the form of a wild and violent sandstorm.

No. There is no time to loose now. The Scīœn is still weak, but another strike like that can prove deadly to the entity. It must act now, and begin appropriation of the planet. A retaliation to the retaliation. The planting of the Exophage seed must begin so it can start taking over and create a Vōrellīum field.

As the planet shall not wait, nor show mercy, neither will the Scīœn.

There is no time to loose now. Let's begin immediate field planting. (1) The fact that an unknown seemingly advanced entity seems aware of our existence remains a concern that we will have to deal with later. Also, our condition is of grave concern (on the verge of death) but can be recovered passively. Let's hope no futher damage comes our way until then.

Though the resulting storm from the attempt to harness the anomaly was unfortunate, the true threat is the aircraft. However the best course is indeterminant as there is too much still unknown. Though the last gamble will have long term benefits it has also likely shortened the time you have to prepare. The fact of the aircraft proves you can be reached with relative ease, proving the remoteness of this location was only a safety so long as you remained unknown. Now that protection is lost.

If the aircraft is from an aggressive species it would be best to repair the Scīœn to better face any directed hostility, though it could only handle a small force. But if there is even 2 more cycles of time then starting the Vōrellīum would be the best effort at this time then repair the Scīœn afterwards.

Factors to consider:
How long will the storm last?
Were you actually noticed by the aircraft? Surely the storm that afflicted you would have partially or completely concealed you from observation.
Was the orbital satellite able to track the aircraft. Being able to monitor intelligent threats and gather information on them would be of great benefit. Perhaps the satellites should be shifted to prioritize this effort.
Can the Vōrellīum be induced to grow below the surface of the plateau, in the cracks and crevices of the region, to minimize your visible intrusion into the local natural environment?
What would it take to create additional units? Without the Vōrellīum fields to provide the needed resources there is little that can be done but how best to reach a state where additional unit production can be achieved?
OOC:
I will declare an action after either feedback/answers, other players posts, or by Sunday at the latest
OOC:
DM Note: That is adequate.

What you propose is possible but with current reserves in orbit you will need to send a stream of Vōrellīum topside to sustain such usage and keep it passively on. Otherwise you have to make due with random cooldowns of 1d4 cycles after each uses.

As of now I have released rudimentary units information, the topside orbital vessel can manufacture and deliver Basic Units but that too will trigger a random cooldown and the cost remains per unit. Structures exists to facilitate this process and other logistical necessuties. I will release the information soon.
