As stoked as I am about this, and while I did already have the Sky Wars PDF, I hadn't read a lick of it. May take me just a bit to grok any differences, specs, etc. Sounds like we all may be in the same boat in that regard though?
Yeah, I'm reading through it. At the moment I'm leaning toward playing a dwarf paladin. Are there any major differences from this and Edge of the Empire that you guys have come across yet?
Mostly weapon damage, and change in skills. Ranged Light and Heavy is just Ranged. And Brawl and Melee is just Melee now. Then there are a few other new Knowledge skills and Piloting is now riding. There's a slight different to how weapon damage work. You gain more starting XP than in EotE, which I like (though I would have given around 100 XP for stats and the rest just for skills and talents). Every class now has one talent tree and one ability tree so more to spend XP on before you switch specialization.
Thanks for the add! I have a friend that may want to run this kind of thing in person, so I'm stoked to play and get used to it. Plus I am just a sucker for this system.
I'll have to look through it as well. To be sure, we are using Sky Wars: Edge of the Kingdom PDF conversion right? I would hate to read through the wrong one.
It's a stunning production for a fan based conversion, I've had a flick through it and the few changes they've made seem to make sense. Think I'll be going with a fairly simple fighter type to be honest.
I frequently play something priestly -- but may poke around the various Magic-using classes to see if there's something interesting there. Also a good way to give the spellcasting system a good workout. :)
Since I'm using an Pathfinder Adventure Path, not so much. But I can easily add them if anyone wants to be an Air Pirate. Everything will be a little harder to get too and suddenly some enemies will have an air defense. It's an adventure path with a lot of travel, so an airship could be handy.
I'll keep that in mind. Air piracy sounds really up my alley, but if you'd rather stick to something easier for you I can be just as happy with a thief.
No problem. I like airships, so that's no problem.
With the addition of airship, this will become a bastardized version of Golarion so if you have another type of deity you'd rather use I'm open to it. But unless otherwise specified it would be easier to just use Golarion's.
Rarity may have been a bit of a moot point as I realised I couldn't afford what I was looking at anyway!!! I've had a stab at a character, he's here if anyone wants to take a nosey to see how he turned out
You can get whatever gear you can afford. The best way to stress test a system is to let players run wild :P
We have a Paladin and a Knight right now, so far a heavily armored group. I'm hoping to start the game at the beginning of next week at the latest (earlier if everyone is done before)
