As Zahn's eyes flow over the revelers, and Banny's words go all but unnoticed by her ears, she drifts away from the tug'o'war-grounds. Her eyes snap to the yells and she shoulders nearer through some on-lookers to appraise the situation.
OOC:
Can she see what's going on/the thief? What Range band is he at, if so?
Mar 12, 2017 3:23 am
OOC:
Do they run past Drake, or will he have to sprint to catch them?
Mar 12, 2017 6:35 am
Butler keeps up the pursuit, trying to close the distance.
OOC:
I'm throwing 2 blues onto this for the advantages as I'm assuming that's where I got them from last time....if not just let me know

4 Success, 4 Advantage, 1 Failure, 1 Threat

Total: 3 Success, 3 Advantage

Butler you are able to catch up with the thief. He is not far away when you notice him climbing into the window of an abandoned building at the edge of town. You can see the rest of the windows are boarded up, and a piece of the roof is missing entirely.
OOC:
Both Zahn and Drake are currently at Long distance. Zahn cannot see, just hear from her vantage point. Though in opposite directions. If you succeed at an Average Athletics check you are able to bridge that to Medium distance.

Seeing the figure enter the building Butler picks up the pace and attempts to follow him through.
OOC:
I'm gonna use one of those advantages to get my strain back and the other two for a boost die if that's ok

OOC:
My Leap Power lets travel Medium Range in one Maneuver, so I'll take two Strain to take 2 Maneuvers and be... Engaged? If I pass the Athletics checks of course...

Using all Adv to recover Strain for a net cost of 2 on the Turn.
Zahns struggles to get to a clear spot towards the action, but once she finds a space with a bit of room she gathers herself and takes a great Leap up onto a rooftop in the direction of the commotion so that she can get a better view.

OOC:
Considering he has climed inside a building I'll say you are at short range, just outside the building.

OOC:
What was the failed Athletics check that you rolled before? Zahn will Leap to the hole in the roof ... hopefully :P

Wah, wah...

Do I end up on the roof but short of the hole, on the ground... other?

Drake folds his arms and shakes his head. "Making a ruckus, in a festival? Thieves these days need to learn when to take some time off." Drake says aloud. Still, his curiosity peaked, he strolls towards the situation.

Zahn you land inside the building and can see down to the floor below. You see Butler climbing through the window. The both of you, see the pick pocket huddled in a corner, holding onto someone. A young girl. This is the first time you can get a good look at them, and their clothing and appearance mark them as Varisian. The girl looks pale and sickly. He hasn't noticed Zahn, but he looks up at Butler. "Sorry sir," he says, and you can barely hear her as the young girls starts coughing. "I needed the money for medicine."
OOC:
The failed check was a chase check. Even though you fail, you move. You just don't move as much relative to those who succeed. At least that's how I'm remembering the rules.

OOC:
Erm, is there some significance to them being Varisian? I have virtually no knowledge of the Pathfinder setting I'm afraid

OOC:
Gonna quote the Wiki:

Varisians are known as a nomadic culture who rarely settle down for any length of time, and consider all of Golarion to be their home. Despite this preconception, just as many live a sedentary lifestyle in numerous settlements across Avistan, most notably the nation of Ustalav, which was founded by Varisian immigrants. Those who continue their nomadic lifestyle generally traverse Avistan in family groups or clans, either on foot or in their well-known brightly-colored wagons.

Varisians often encounter prejudice when dealing with outsiders, as they are seen as itinerant thieves and unethical swindlers who only stay in one location long enough to steal whatever they can. This preconception is largely based on people's interaction with the Sczarni, the Varisian criminal gangs. Many Varisian bands contain members of the Sczarni, but they can most often be found among the settled members of their people. Most non-Varisians feel that they should therefore be avoided and carefully watched from a safe distance.[4] Korvosans will derogatorily label Varisians moths.[

OOC:
Right, thanks
Butler bites back a few choice words he was going to have with the man when he sees how sick the woman is. Would I have done anything different in his situation? he thinks to himself. After a few moments he holds his hands up "Be easy, I'm not going to do anything now I know why you did what you did" he crouches down for a moment looking at the girl "What's the matter with her?" he asks, trying to keep his voice as friendly as he can in the circumstances.

Zahn crouches on the walkway above and watches, listening to the conversation as well as for any other movement in the building, or commotions from outside.
Mar 14, 2017 6:40 pm
"Don't know..." the man says. "Got the fever a few days back. When it got worse I came here. Heard Mr. Podicker is a great alchemist. I am sure he has medicine, but he's expensive."
Mar 14, 2017 7:44 pm
"Well I've not heard of this Podicker but if he's anything like others in his profession then calling him expensive may be an understatement. Have you approached him yet?

Zahn frowns at the talk of disease, the thinning of the weak and old by disease is a natural process, especially when a population has swollen beyond a regions ability to support it... but not all diseases are natural. She reflexively draws her cloak up around her face and shrinks back some, toward the hole in the roof, even as she scrutinizes the young female's symptoms.
Mar 14, 2017 9:07 pm
Drake approaches where he lost sight of them, being at this house. He looks around. "Did the bugger get away? He seemed pursued by a rather well-armed gentleman." He says aloud to himself looking to and fro, lifting his eye-patch to assist his scan. He is likely very close to Zahn, but has not noticed her presence on the rooftop.

SelectiveAmnesia says:
OOC:
You failed, but you’re starting to get a view of the situation. You can use your advantage to either make the young man drop his dagger, so it’s out of the picture for the moment or you can get a Blue on your next check.
OOC:
I'll make him drop the dagger.
When the young man drops the dagger, Filgird put's his foot over it to try to hold it down to the ground. "That is enough!" the dwarf bellows. In his anger, he isn't able to channel Serenrae's holy light. Trying to control himself, he is unable to and his brows furrow as he glares at those around him. "You will cease this fighting immediately and return to you celebrations. You," he yells, pointing to the young man, "Stop ogling his wife. And you," now directing his attention to the older man. "Stop taking things so personally. People are going to look around. It's what the young do.
OOC:
I'm assuming average difficulty for coercion. Let me know if I need to add anything.

Butler & Zahn:

"He told me he didn't run a charity," he says with a sigh. "He told me it would be 50 gold. I have barely 10."

Drake:

You see an open window in an abandoned house. You can barely make out voices from within.

Filgird:

The older man pushes his way past you, he looks mad with rage he grabs the younger man around the neck and presses him back onto a table. "This will teach you to stay away from my daughter!"

At this point, several people run forward, trying to separate the two men.
OOC:
You get two blue if you try to separate the two due to the helping hands. However the big man is strong, so you will have to test vs his Brawn of 3. I will also use a Destiny to upgrade, the anger seems to give him that extra little strength. If you try to talk him down some more, you will also have to upgrade, as his range gets in the way of listening.
