Emsquared, I apologize if I offended you. Jenna is a plot device. I expected her to fumble on her attack but she didn't because I messed up and did not add the setback die, a rookie mistake and I apologize for that; she should have fumbled. After learning the rules for shooting into a mix of allies and enemies I'm relieved that she didn't shoot one of you guys in the back and have the whole party kill me outright because she attacked the party. That would have been a mess...
It is not my intention to cause any problems guys. I'm about story and having fun, really intrigued by this system but I'm obviously a rookie. I do NOT want to cause any drama. I wrote Alaric's story based off of the blurb in the book about nobody knowing where Half-Orcs came from (which is why I picked a Half-Orc). After I wrote the story, then I created the character because I'm a sucker for stories, just rolling dice and hitting things doesn't do it for me.
Jenna is based off one of my nieces. Jenna is enthusiastic about doing things but she's not very good at doing most things. Want some food? Jenna can cook (burn) it for you. Want the lawn mowed? Jenna can run over some rocks and bust the mower blade (true story). Want some ranged cover? Jenna can probably shoot you in the back. Be careful what you ask a 10 year old to do.
As far as her attacking, I just figured that a 10 year old caught up in chaos would probably shoot an arrow at something (and miss) just because kids are crazy. (Given her underwhelming combat ability it would be safer for the group's health if she doesn't do anything but try to stay out of the way in combat, I defer to our GM about that).
She's a way for our GM to smack the everliving fire out of me by putting me in situations where I have to rescue her. Her mother Raina was Alaric's former partner and the leader of the bandits who raided Jenna's village and killed her mother is still at large, giving our GM some content to run if he decides he wants to run something else if we wind up playing this game long term.
This site is a fun place where I don't have to be a responsible, stressed out adult and I value that. I don't want to cause any trouble. Please don't get upset.
P.S. Ronan James (the leader of the raid on Jenna's village) is based off of LeBron James, the NBA superstar. Why? Because he's a mercenary and a villain!
