Nope, I get it. I gotta apologize: I don't know why I'm starting to go gamist. I used to always put narrative first and optimal mechanics second. This excellent game requires nothing less.

But here's that superiority die.
OOC:
Perfect. Credit for standing on principle ... and then collecting the practicality payoff.
Everyone sells out for the dice, Jabes. :)

Gorolach
TR3

Action: Attempt to break damaged net and end Restrained condition.

Enraged from being tangled in the net through the barrage of attacks, Gorolach takes two hands free to grab the damaged net, tear his way out, and completely ruin the net.
OOC:
I am going to let this eat BOTH Attack Actions. This circumstance reminds me of the Grappler debate, where a higher level multi-Attacker has to cash in all of their offense to do one thing defensively. This one is another that will be reviewed at a later date (dang, that's an epidemic now of tabled debates - this is horrible).
But if Gorolach is giving away ActionS, he's going to make it count and try to wreck this baby, especially after Thorn threw in 66 points of damage in on the whole pile.
Net destroyed.
OOC:
Mr. Net is torn apart, beyond repair. He gave his life to close down 2 attacks from a psycho, and give some people some extra shots at Criticals. May eternal light shine upon him.
Interact with environment: Pick Spear back up
Bonus Action: from Rage Frenzy, Attack

Letting out a roar as the net tears in half, Gorolach takes up the Locust Spear again, raises it high overhead with two hands, and stabs downward at Ivor.

Rolls

STR - (1d20+5)

(17) + 5 = 22

(2) + 5 = 7

Spear Attack, 2 handed at Ivor - (1d20+9)

(3) + 9 = 12

OOC:
Alright. It's Goro-Hulk vs. The World.
How many rounds is this going to take?
Fire when ready.
Jul 21, 2017 3:11 pm
As Gorolach directs his spear at Ivor, Thorn is drawing away from his most recent attack, and sees an opportunity to strike at the King in the Box's forearm as it nears him. Then, whirling around toward his enemy's right flank, Thorn slices upward along the man's chest.

"Over here, big man," he says, trying to draw his enemy's attack away from his allies, and stabs downward, toward Gorloach's calf.
OOC:
Using Sentinel for the attack against Ivor as a reaction, then two attacks, adding Distracting Strike damage to the second if it hits.

Looks like 2nd attack hit; adding SD damage.

Looks like the reaction missed, so including Distracting Strike, 29 points of damage.
[ +- ] Thorn Character Sheet
OOC:
Back to the top of the next round, Thorn is shifting proficiency to a more defensive stance: +1 Attack Bonus, +2 to AC.

OOC:
Ouch, bro. Ivor has Sentinel, too. Remember that weirdo qualifier on Sentinel description?
I don't think this Attack can go.

OOC:
My intention is to get up to Gorolach and attack with both blades, but with everyone's movement I'm not sure how far Bryn is from the fray. If he is too far I will use bonus Action to dash and you can disregard the second off hand attack.
Fuck! I need to get in there... Bryn jumps out from his hiding spot pulling out his kukri blades and hacking at the gluttonous barbarian He smells as bad as he looks...

Thorn
BR3

Attack 1 & 2: Hit

Thorn continues his relentless assault. Gorolach endures and fights on, but under duress.
OOC:
Am I right in understanding that this delivers an Advantage Attack to another ally?
If so, you heard it here: next person on the board gets it, on their First Attack if they have multiple.

Absolutely. Sorry, I meant to mention it.

Ivor snarls as the brute tears the net apart. The Locust Spear comes whistling down, missing Ivor by a hair. Ivor thrusts his trident downward at Gorolach's exposed flank and twists it as he rips it back out before stabbing again, one-handed. He follows through, his body twisting with the motiin, his free hand drawing his spare handaxe, which comes whipping around for a vicious slash at Gorolach's collarbone.
OOC:
• Reaction Riposte occurs immediately after Goro's miss.
• Trident attack after Brynn.
• Bonus action handaxe attack.

OOC:
Not allowed. I have been delayed writing and posting, but my original type was in prep and then arrived on the board AFTER Ox posted up Brynn's Actions while I was writing. That is where it is going to go.

I know it will be a waste. Probably. Brynn's first Attack is a hit. Still a 5% chance of an adjustment to Critical.

Even if moved to Jabes (not happening), both of his rolls are already hits.

We're not going to just look for a Miss and apply or auction this thing off in Admin. Both of those are really just cherry-picking after the fact.

From here on out it's the same if unannounced: first on gets it on first Attack.

The only other reasonable idea is for the Maneuverer (Thorn in this case) to announce someone as the specific recipient in Advance. I can buy that I guess.

One of the two scenarios in the future.

This time it is Bryn's first Attack. So, Ox you can send another d20 to see if the big Two Naught comes up.

BR3

Movement: 30 feet
Action: Dash for rest of the way
Action Surge: 1 Attack, with Sneak Attack Applied
OOC:
That is the way it would build out, Ox. That distance still 40' and then that last bit is Difficult Terrain.
Will apply what you anticipated, and take first Attack
Attack: Hit

Bryn makes a blinding sprint across the room, up the stairs to the raised platform, and strikes Gorolach while he is distracted by Thorn's expert swordplay.
OOC:
As decreed by myself while wearing my Pharoah headdress, you can send in another d20.
I Am the Morning and the Evening Star.

One eye on Sorcha and the other on his target, distracted by the girl's rummaging through Rutcranna's belongings, Kray lets another errant shot fly in Gorolach's general direction. Shit.

As soon as the arrow is loosed, his eyes are back on Sorcha, curious. "Fates' sake, girl, what are you up to?"

Though Gorolach had used his experience and athleticism to barely avoid injury or reduce kill strikes to glancing blows, the cost in exertion had become nearly unbearable.

Beset on all sides by veteran warriors, every second was a threat of a killing blow. His endurance quickly depleting under the assault, Gorolach could not maintain the pace of blocking and dodging forever, especially when he no longer held his great shield. And the collective bodily damage of the many smaller injuries was starting to be a threat in and of itself.

Thorn's final stab downward into Gorolach's lower right leg was the blow that started the downward cascade. Gorolach was able to side-step the strike at the very last fraction of a second. The actual wound was minimal, but Gorolach's fighting stance was hindered.

Bryn ran in immediately after, catching Gorolach by surprise, and chopping the kukri down at the hulking man's neck and shoulder. Off-balance and winded, but dead if he did not avoid the blow, Gorolach heaved his entire body to the side with abandon. Bryn's kukri sliced across the edge of the barbarian's back and shoulder, tearing through his robes- drawing blood, but the wound was not deep enough to lay Gorolach low.

But the effort to shift away from the attack left Gorolach wide open and fully exposed to Ivor's incoming two-handed trident thrust. The center and outside barb of the weapon sunk into Gorolach's exposed side flank, entering near Gorolach's right kidney. When Ivor pulled the trident free by ripping sideways, tearing a track of shredded flesh, the pain was too much even for the enraged barbarian. Gorolach winced and his body arched backwards.

Somehow, the raging madman was able to duck under Ivor's hand axe strike, but the follow-through one-handed extending trident stab hit Gorolach high at the collar bone. All three prongs of the trident dove deep into flesh, and tore again with the snatching withdraw.

The top end of Gorolach's lung was nicked during this injury. Blood began to pull into his into his respiratory system, and was soon coughed out of his windpipe.

Gorolach knew then that his last moments would be coming soon, but he maintained his bearing. He still had time to fight before the bleeding and internal injury would really take effect. He would be able to do what any Bat Hannoc would strive to do in his final battle, to kill on as you are being killed.

Gorolach's goals switched at that moment, from complete victory and triumph to one more kill that would make way for the rule of his sons after his own glorious death. Gorolach accepted that his time as Emperor had been somewhat short. With one more blow though, he knew that he could ensure that his coming heirs would reign forever.

There was one target left. Not too far away, just a few steps down the stairs. The only thing that mattered now.

Gorolach shifted his mighty spear in his right hand, from a forward grip of thrusting, to a reverse grip for throwing. He raised his arm high in the air, The Locust Spear poised for launch.

One throw was all he needed. One last toss to send his heritage weapon through the heart of one more man. A last strike to end all Bat Hannoc lines other than his own. Gorolach would kill Maeriks Mac Hannoc.

And when the imbecile died, so too died all challenges to Gorolach's ultimate triumphant claim as The Last Bat Hannoc. The Last Norach.

Even in death, Gorolach would remain The Champion.

Then the long knife slammed into his chest.
