Nespau Kingdom

Trattle: Halflings have become enslaved to the Humans. They are ruled by the most powerful warrior determined every 5 years in a tournament open to any race. They have evolved over the years from primarily rogues to fighters. They consider themselves the rulers of the entire Nespeau Kingdom, regardless of what other cities in the Kingdom think. The current ruler is Lamar VonDu. Their two biggest threats are Halfling uprisings and Lizardfolk raiders. Order from the inside out - 3 buildings (Temple, Leader’s house, gladiator arena), farms, animal pens (sheep, cows), Slave houses, smiths and crafters, family tents, warrior tents, wall and towers.

Blackburn: While part of the Nespeau Kingdom, Blackburn citizens don’t consider themselves under the rule of the Humans. While primarily human, Blackburn accepts all races. The current mayor is Horace Fairbellow. After 4 years a new election is held. Anybody can run as many times as they would like.

Foxdell: Although it still mainly keeps to itself, Foxdell has been a steady trader with Trattle and both Paradise Island and the Isle of Fear. The current leader, Mayor Isabelle Waterstoop is trying to crackdown on the frequent crime in the city.

Aragoth: Aragoth is in the middle of a small scale civil war. There has been a ever growing group of Blood Mages trying to take over. It began with potential students who were denied access and traversed the levels all the way up to the Archmage Arimack Moonshade. He was killed by his son Tenerith. It was unknown that Arimack was a Blood Mage and Tenerith is still being hunted. This is the only settlement on The Isle of Fear.

Lochbay: A town surrounded by mystery and that’s just how the blood mages of Lochbay like it. In this quiet, desolate village, the mages experiment with their power and anybody who stands against them become part of those experiments. While creepy, Lochbay is a key city for slavers and slavers make top dollar selling to the mages there. There is no official leadership, but the most respected mage in the town is Baron Orlais.

Farfass: Farfass is the final destination for travelers traveling north across the Murder Grounds and the first destination for those traveling south. It’s a small village, mostly inhabited with merchants. Other than the merchants, the majority of the town is inhabited by mercenaries that all live in the Warrior’s Guild. These men are generally hired to escort merchants and travelers across the Murder Grounds. The cities ruler, if you could call him that, is Lord Eldridge Fairfire. The leader of the Warrior’s Guild is Vorn Tordud.

Wildrock: One of the two settlements on Paradise Island, Wilderock is home to the Goliaths. The Goliath society is based off of competition and feats of strength. Whomever can best the current leader in a feat of the challengers choosing, becomes the new leader, called the Chief. While not looking to spread their rule, Goliaths are known to wander and travel. They are also known to be very territorial. While extremely athletic and strong, they are not known for their intellect and hate being made to feel stupid. They are very sensitive to being insulted. The current leader is Ghatham Lonewalker Inulakume.

Moorcliff: One of the two settlements on Paradise Island, Moorcliff is the mountainous home of the Dragonborns. There are no actual buildings, just a system of caves. The caves have been elaborately created, similar to what one might find in a dwarven encampment. Slowly but surely, the Dragonborn are expanding their tunnel system to take more and more of the mountain, much to the chagrin of local wildlife and the Goliaths. These particular Dragonborn are primarily silver scaled, showing their close relationship with the silver dragons that share their mountain chain. There are other Dragonborns throughout Calimbre, but this is the only, all Dragonborn settlement. Dragonborns choose their leader only after their current one dies or is deemed too weak to lead. Anybody who wants to can claim the role but must fight all challengers for a week. Whomever can best all challengers for a week, gets to lead. Their current leader is named Balroth Icewrath.

Blackhallow:The smallest settlement in Nespeau, the Black Hallows are a small lumber community. Rarely visited and rarely left by locals, some think the Black Hallows are haunted. The citizens of the Hallows are friendly folk made up of all races. There is no official leader, but folks generally go to Lord Quentin Rose to settle disputes. Nobody seems to know how he made his money, they just know the kind human seems fair. Lord Rose happens to be a Vampire, but nobody knows that. He never harms innocent people unless he is forced to. The town is usually cloudy and has colder temperatures, given its location in the Dread Slopes. Lord Rose occupies the largest home located towards the back edge of town. Most other people live in small log houses.

Arandark: Primarily Human, this town is now the center of crime in the Human kingdom. They are under direct control of Trattle and King Vondu, but are run by Lord Eldridge Argon. Most of the overland smuggling and slavery are funneled through Arandark. The leader of the main crime ring, the Golden Hand, is Geoffrey Ironclaw.

Black Woods: A stretch of forest that separates Trattle from Foxdell. These woods are filled with all sorts of creatures. This is also where most elves of the region reside.

Whisper Mountains: The mountain chain that takes up the majority of Paradise Island. Both the Dragonborn and Goliaths reside in these mountains. They are also filled with a variety of other creatures, including phoenix and rumors of a silver dragon.

Murder Grounds: A vast desert in the northeast of Nespau. Monsterous Scorpions and their scorpionfolk overlords rule this desert.

Dread Slopes: This is the home of the Minotaurs and giants. The cities of Blackhallow, Arandark, and Blackburn are nestled in these slopes.

Dead Pond: A lake before the Murder Grounds. Rumored home of a Bronze Dragon.

Death March: A marsh that houses the city of Lochbay.

Everything outside the Kingdom of Nespau is a mystery to you. There are also several rivers throughout the kingdom.
