"Tie down that end," Qavez says. "You have rope of your own? If you do, tie that down to another anchor point and toss the other end over. We'll make a bridge for these folk."

He looks around. "Who else has rope? You there, fetch those pieces of wood. Someone help them. We'll tie these planks so we can all walk across." Qavez tries to direct others to help fashion a steady-enough rope bridge.

Working together, you spend the next half-hour making a serviceable bridge.
OOC:
Does anyone else take other actions, or is everyone helping?

Feeling less able to assist with the physical work on the bridge Xalvador moves to the rear of the group of survivors and starts scanning the town for more of the townsfolk as well as trying to keep an eye on the giants.

Xed walks over to the keep to see how they’re doing.
Aug 27, 2018 5:57 pm
Qavez stays on the village side of the bridge and ushers the townsfolk over, one or two at a time to keep the the bridge steady. "Keep it steady, folks. Don't rush, we'll all get there safely if we keep our heads cool. Hold onto the rope and mind your step. Hold your kid's hand, sir. You, you got a heavy pack; wait a bit until they're over. Well, I don't care if he's not your kid, help him out."

As Xalvador watches, the giants continue up the cloudy stairs and disappear into the night sky, leaving a decimated town behind.

Qavez directs the townsfolk, who seem happy to have someone take over, for the most part. There are a few grumblings, but the malcontents are careful not to speak too loudly.

Xed skips ahead toward the keep, and encounters a set of oak doors with iron hinges, hung between two windowless stone gatehouses. The doors are closed.
Aug 28, 2018 10:38 pm
Xed knocks loudly on the door a few times.
Aug 28, 2018 10:49 pm
There is no response.
Aug 29, 2018 3:15 am
Xed stands a few feet back from the building and shouts up. "HELLO?? IS ANYONE HOME?"
Aug 29, 2018 3:36 am
"Another holdup?" Qavez says, lamenting the traffic jam. He scans the battlements for signs of any activity; surely the keep's occupants have noticed the giant attack.

"Hey, where did the giants go?" Xed looks around in alarm. Weren't they just here?
Aug 30, 2018 2:46 pm
Xalvador shouts back to Xed "They appear to have whatever they came for and have departed....into the clouds?" he say's, a little confused at what his eyes are seeing.
Aug 31, 2018 9:40 am
There is no sign of movement on the bailey, which is strange. Nor is there any response to Xed's hail. Now that Qavez looks more closely, he can see some signs of damage from falling rocks.
Aug 31, 2018 6:36 pm
"Anybody got more rope?" asks Qavez. "We can try hooking onto something atop the wall. Xed, you got my grappling hook, yeah?"
Aug 31, 2018 11:05 pm
There is also a set of doors...just sayin'.
Sep 1, 2018 12:20 am
Oblivious to the nature of the doors, Qavez continues to work on his convoluted plan of action to Rube-Goldberg their way in.
Sep 3, 2018 11:34 am
Maru will loudly knock and add her substantial vocals in the yelling for help.
Sep 3, 2018 1:29 pm
Xalvador shouts back to the others "What's the holdup? Just open the doors"
OOC:
Our GM stated closed but it doesn't look like anyone has tried opening them yet....just sayin ;-)
Sep 4, 2018 12:07 am
Qavez reasons that he could probably get a grappling hook atop the wall, but would need someone stronger to help...like Maru...whose loud knocking is strong enough to push the door partly ajar...

Strangely, there is still no response from within. The townspeople are beginning to pool against the keep, and murmur worriedly.
Sep 4, 2018 1:50 am
Qavez glances over at the pushed door. "Eh, I suppose they won't mind," he says. "Xed, Maru, open those doors and lets get these people into safety."
