Holding a sword in one hand and a torch in another, Iolgur swings both weapons in a wide arc.

Qavez tugs briefly on Xalvador's shoulder. "I think they're coming back this way," he says, referring to their compatriots stuck in the middle of the swarm. He tries to help the others by launching an arrow near the ceiling, trying to skewer one of the bats.

Qavez lifts his bow to shoot upward, a wise decision given he cannot see where his friends are in the cloud of bats. Unfortunately, his hand slips on the string and releases too early...straight down the corridor and disappearing into the swarm.

Just as the arrow disappears, so do the bats. With a swirl they descend once more into the darkness, and the party can once again see each other. They stand in a frozen tableau for a moment, as Chanler looks down at the arrow in his leg with surprise and dismay.

Xalvador, his voice now an acceptable volume again, picks up a pebble and mutters a few words in the odd tongue he keeps using. A soft blue light blooms from the pebble as he finishes and he tosses it over to Xed with a smile "This might help"
