The goblin interrupts his progress by saying, "Thought you wanted to talk." He recognizes the voice as the one he just heard.

She replies, "That useless fool is no leader, but yes, he surrounds himself with lackeys so that he can feel safe."
She snorts with derision and continues, "I have watched you, watched what you did with the ogres. I believe that you and I can help each other. I have a proposal for you and your friends."

She speaks quietly but with passion, "Hark is destroying our tribe. He invited those ogres in, who demanded we catch humans to eat. We have never bothered the humans before, it's too dangerous. I knew it was only a matter of time before we would have visitors like you. Hark is a fool, and he needs to die. I will lead you the back way into his cavern, if you will leave us in peace once you kill him."

"Hi! I'm Xed. Want to hear a song?" Xed practices a few notes before going straight into a piece that she hasn't played or heard in months. 1/3 of the way through she gets distracted and begins to play notes at random.

Qavez does not seem surprised at the impromptu performance, nor does he make any effort to stop it. Instead, he gauges the eloquent goblin's reaction.

The goblin blinks in surprise and she stares at Xed, then a look of comprehension spreads across her face and she smiles benignly. She sees Qavez looking at her and taps her head with a questioning look.

Qavez shrugs with a noncommittal tilt of his head. He continues the previous subject by saying, "Seems convenient enough. However, I reckon this Hark isn't exactly going to be alone, and once we confront him I doubt his followers will stand idle. Are you okay with us having to kill your kin, should it come to that?"

"No, you are right. The coward surrounds himself with his pets..giant rats that feast on the tidbits he shares with them. There are only two of my kin, and both chose Hark over the good of the clan. If you must kill them to free us of Hark, so be it. They have made their choice."

Seeing that a sudden explosion of violence hasn’t occurred Xalvador quietly moves to join Chanler, Qavez, and Xed. After hearing the proposal he furrows his brow for a second "Is that where they are holding your friend?" he asks Chanler
