Xalvador sends a blast of pure force that slams into the surviving bodyguard, flinging her against the side of the corridor. She slowly slides down to the floor, quite dead.

Xed spring backward as Maru's sword arcs toward her, avoiding most of the damage as the sharp blade draws a red line across her torso.

Maru manages to catch the first rat across the muzzle as it lunges for her, but the second sinks its teeth into her arm. Iolgur and Xed are likewise injured, but Chanler fares the worse as his lackluster swing leaves him open for a savage attack.

Working with dread efficiency, the giant rats are dispatched one by one, and you stand amid the bloody carnage. The female goblin warrior who led you here, having killed two rats with well-aimed javelins, moves toward the throne. She pushes the kings remains aside and sits with great pleasure.
