"I have gold!" Xed jangles the 15 gold pieces she has in her belt pouch.

Qavez says solemnly, "First round's for Nestor, bless his soul."
Apr 13, 2018 7:39 pm
Xed considers asking who Nestor is, but ultimately decides not to. "Ok."

As conversation shifts and he hears his name called, Chanler moves slightly but maintains the posture he had been holding since the rat struck him. Slouched forward, one hand gripping the sword in front of him, one hand clutched around his most recent wound. He makes an effort to stand and does straighten, but offers no words to the conversation, and continues to awkwardly hold the blade.
Apr 14, 2018 6:48 am
"Hey kid, are you alright?"
Apr 16, 2018 3:29 am
"I- yeah." He says almost under his breath, as he tries to dry the sword of his own blood that had dripped onto it. Wiping the blade on his now even more crimson shirt, only managing to smear it even more before fumbling it back into its scabbard.

Xed takes out her pan flute and begins to play an uplifting tune, hopefully to cheer up that one with the shirt.

Somewhat surprisingly, given her skill at previous attempts, Xed plays a tune that gently lifts the spirits, and engenders a spark of hope.

As Maru sets him down, the little goblin nods enthusiastically. He sits down and stares intently at Snigbat, who regards him with a raised brow, before hoping down from the throne.

Snigbat looks at Chanler, then turns to Maru and asks in Goblin, "What of the dead human? Would he want the body, or should we bury it for him?" She flicks her eyes slightly to one corner of the room, where a mangled pile of bones and meat lie.

"We should bury them all I think?" Maru clearly doesn't want to separate one corpse from another within the refuse pile.

"Let's go see how those kids are doing," Qavez says to Chanler as they walk to the exit. "You know, these tunnels remind me of the Delves of the Tormented Barrows. Redundant name aside, it had these little twists and turns and pits..." He rambles on, seemingly already in a storytelling mood more familiar with taverns and drink.

Chanler reluctantly follows and attempts to pay attention but seems unable to escape his own thoughts. As the two eventually reach the outside of the cave, Chanler barely pipes up "I think I need to make a quick detour."

"If you need to, you can pee behind the tree over there. We’ll wait for you."

Qavez smiles. "Sure thing," he says, and follows Chanler.

Chanler recalls there is a stream quite nearby. He finds it easily, bubbling merrily along its path. It's actually quite beautiful and peaceful here.

OOC:
Maru will bury the dead outside the caves and find a rock to mark the spot. Then she will go get drunk.
Apr 24, 2018 4:33 am
Chanler makes his way up to the edge of the water and fumbles with the straps of Morak's scabbard until he's managed to remove it from his belt. As he grips it in his hand, he turns back to Qavez and Xed, "You two can head back, I'm going to be a while I think.", as he moves to sit and begin cleaning the blade in the stream.
Apr 25, 2018 3:04 am
"Kid, the last thing you want to do is spend some time alone in a goblin-infested forest," Qavez says, evenly. "I ain't gonna stop ya from wiping your blade if that's what you're gonna do, but this here's not the place to do it by yourself."
Apr 25, 2018 1:23 pm
Xalvador doesn’t say anything but he quietly takes up position a short distance from Chanler and Qavez, his thoughts seeming to mirror those just voiced by Qavez
Apr 26, 2018 3:09 am
Xed wades into the stream, soaking her feet in the cool water.

As Maru moves to begin picking up the bodies for burial, the goblin warrior dissuades her, "We will take care of our own. But take that one. He should be buried with his own kind." She points to the corner, where Maru finds the half-eaten remains of an elderly human male.
