Qavez descends the stairs, shouldering his bag on one side, leather armor slung across the other. He tries to make his way through the dining room and outside.

Picking his way across the debris, Qavez reaches the front door. With an effort, he clears enough out of the way that he can pull it open.
In front of him, chaos rules the night. People are shouting and running around, fires have started in some houses, and dogs are barking furiously. Three giant beings surround the obelisk at the center of town, working to free it from the ground. As he watches, they lift it and begin marching toward a misty stairway that leads up into the clouds.

Xalvador rushes down after Qavez, trying to judge the scene before them.

"Seems like that'd have been something we'd 'ave noticed on the way in," Qavez says dryly, indicating the stairs.

The giants and the obelisk are about 30 feet away. The obelisk was always there, and is in fact what the town is named for: a huge dark plinth with mysterious carvings.Jul 20, 2018 3:49 pm
"Okay, Xalvador was it?" says Qavez. "I don't know about you, but I ain't feeling all that up for fighting giants. So let's see about getting these people somewhere safe." He looks around for those that need help, and where there may be shelter.

Xalvador draws up short, considering Qavez's words, before nodding "Yes, you are right. Perhaps we should be directing them to the keep? Would be the most defensible position"

As she stumbles down the stairs and out of the bar she sees the gathering group and the giants.

Sorry I dropped the ball for a bit there, folks!Xalvador realizes that the keep would certainly be the most defensible position, as the rest of the town has no defences now that the giants are within its walls.
As Maru dons her armor, she sees the giants begin ascending the ephemeral staircase.

Qavez dashes across the open space for the burning building. He tries to quickly determine if there is any chance of entering the blaze, and should he find an opening, drops his armor and pack and dives in.

Xalvador takes a deep breath and shouts out "EVERYONE, HEAD TO THE KEEP! YOU WILL BE SAFE THERE!" his voice booming out much louder than normal.

"Fire! Fire! Save the people!" Xed runs toward the burning building and attempts to make her way inside.

Qavez and Xed leap into the burning house, desperately searching for the missing children.

Qavez covers his nose and mouth with a sleeve while he looks around for anyone.

Qavez and Xed both tumble into the building, Xed rather more gracefully than Qavez Searching about, neither sees a sign of where the children are, and the roaring of the flames blocks any sound.

Skill challenge time! Choose any relevant skill to find the children. Each roll, you must also do a CON save and take a point of smoke damage if you fail. You need three cumulative successes to find them, and the DC is going up as time passes.Aug 8, 2018 3:44 pm
Qavez attempts to deduce the best location to start his search for the children, assessing the available clues and circumstances. Even if it merely helps point out where they might be, the rogue tries his best to work quickly under pressure.

Maru will follow behind them slowed by her getting dressed. She will assist any old or weak people who are lagging behind in the flight to the keep, if needed she will physically pick them up and carry them.
