Rain sparks against the energy shielded windows of Precinct 32. Its late, the shops all but closed up but a few poor souls are still trapped in the station. The good cop, just bought in the mook, there wasn't much to go on but someone tipped off that something was going down, and supposedly he knows what. Commisioner Marion (played by whipstache for this scene) is railing the good cop, he doesn't have a warrant to bring the mook in. On the other side of the one way mirror the bad cop is interrogating the mook and he just turned off the microphone...

"Alright, Danny Boy, spill. What do you know?"

Danny watched as Martinez switched off the mic, relaxing visibly as he rested his chin in the palm of his hand. He offered the dirty cop an easy smile as he spoke, his New York drawl audible in every word. "I know I'm walkin' outta here as soon my lawyer shows up... but I got a little time til then, and somethin' that might be worth ya while if ya play yer cards right."

His smile twisted into a grin, and he leaned forward a bit, conspiratorially. "But ya know my help ain't free, even fer you. Silver lining, I got a reaaaal simple request... If ya willin' ta listen."

"You know I'm always listening," Martinez growls, "and watching," he adds warningly. "Now out with it, and hurry up before my partner comes in here!"

The Cleaner's eyes flashed with delight. "Awright, that's more like it. Here's the story: there's this guy, messed up real bad. Benedetti, I think... Anyways, it was a total shitshow, an' now he's tryna get outta the life. Problem is, they bagged 'is gal, see? So he ain't goin' nowhere quick just yet." Danny fished a pitch-black cigarette out of his vest, letting it dangle from his lip, but not lighting it just yet. He raised an eyebrow, offering one to Martinez.

"So here's the rub, and coincidentally, where it gets good fer both of us... You got a light, Martinez?"

Martinez reaches over and plucks the cigarette from Danny's lips and flicks it to a corner of the room. "There's no smoking in here. Not for cockroaches like you anyhow. Quit screwing around and get to the point."

Danny raised his hands placatingly, leaning back a bit. "All right, all right; no need to bust my balls, OFFICER." He made sure to twist the word around a little for emphasis, but he continued, ticking off on his fingers as he summarized his points.

"One: Benedetti fucked up. That bit's irrelevant, nothin' ya need to worry yer pretty head over. Two: He wants out bad, and he's willin' ta do whatever it takes to make sure that happens. He's desperate, and therefore, stupid: ripe for manipulation. Three: Some goons have his girl holed up in a certain location that I can reveal to you... provided my demands are met to my satisfaction."

He folded his hands behind his head in leisurely manner, a cocky grin lining his porcelain features as he let the impact of his words sink in for a moment.

"Just in case ya weren't aware, Benedetti's the type who's a fly onna wall. He's muscle; seen, but not seen, ya dig? He knows his shit, and a lotta other folk's shit too. He's the type of guy who's really worth his weight in info... info that you'd be interested in."

He unlaced his fingers from behind his head, and refolded them neatly in his lap, the grin never fading, but taking on a more predatory appearance.

"Interested enough to score your old pal Danny a service revolver outta the armory."

Martinez scoffs. "Have you completely lost it?! What do you need a piece from the armory for? You can get one off the street in half an hour!"

Across the bedraggled office, Commissioner Marion is giving Officer deBoer the what-for...

"deBoer, you know IA is keepin' their eyes on you an' Martinez after that incident at the pizzeria last month. Even though no charges were filed, there are a handful o' cops 'round here who think you an' your partner got away with somethin' and are grindin' their teeth waitin' for the two o' you to slip.

I know you're a good cop, deBoer, an' I'd hate for you to get dragged for somethin' stupid. So, go cut that creep loose, do your job, an' bring him back when you got somethin' that'll stick, yeah?"

Commissioner Marion nods to punctuate his point, then turns to walk away before pausing and facing the officer once again. "Oh, an' Xavier, next time this happens, this conversation won't be just between the two of us. Get it together." Without waiting for a reply, the gray-haired commissioner pivots on his heels and strides out of the bullpen.

The Cleaner simply chuckled, his eyes narrowing a bit. "Addy-baby, ya see what you're doing here, right? All these questions... The answers ain't gonna bring ya nothin' but trouble. I'm tryin' ta help ya here, but if I'm gonna make this work for ya, I can't have ya up in my business, see?" He tapped a finger on the desk pointedly. "Yes, you're right; I can get one off the street anytime I like. But I don't need a Saturday Night Special; I ain't just some ganger, pluggin' punks on th' corner for chump change. I'm a professional... And a businessman."

He let the silence hang in the air, his ice blue eyes searing across the gap between them like laser beams.

"You want info on a case that's about to break, specifically one that's gonna make yer career. I'm settin' you up for a windfall, and all I need is one little thing, and no questions from you. Do that for me, and we've got a deal. If yer not interested, then no skin off my nose. If yer gonna make a decision though, I suggest ya do it quickly... we're on a tight schedule, in case you've forgotten."

OOC:
I'm going to use one of my directors moves, to offer Adrian a terrible choice. You've only got one or two words to respond with before the door opens.

"The Laundromat. 10pm." Martinez growls, before switching the microphone back on just before the door opens.

Im happy to close the scene out here, though I'd love to here from the good cop before we do. Thinking ahead a bit does anyone really want to direct the next scene?
