I was attempting to give Christian a bonus as per his request earlier (see below)

OOC:
I think myself and Qralloq need to burn raises. Unsure how much this will cost but...
Satterson looks around as he rapidly moves to the pirate captain's quarters to see if the ship looks Vodace, there's got to be an 'actual' reason he's done this besides cockiness and stupidity. Like money.
[/ooc]
OOC:
Ah, ok that makes a bit more sense. I’ll say that in his haste to Ready his ship for the attack the enemy captain left a small chest out in his cabin, Christian can spend his last raise to take advantage and grab whatever’s inside, sound good?

That's probably a bit of a stretch for an Opportunity - you could use your raise to apply presure to the enemy captain so that if he doesn't spend his next action to deal with you and your boarders he'll have to spend an additional Raise to do anything else.
OOC:
I'll do that then.
Stopping a moment at the stairs, Bastien looks back to his men. "Make for their Captain, we want to cut this battle short." With a nod of approval to them he leads them out to the meleé. Echoes of violent streets wash over him as he charges the enemy from the rear. Vive la Révolution!

Yep, works for me, I'll do that when we're down to 1 raises. Just have to get back and not drown now XD.

OOC:
well the enemy Captain is out of Raises so it’s the PC’s to spend everything they’ve got left now

Satterson looks around and eyes a chest once in the Captain's cabin. With a swift kick he grabs the contents and moves back to get back to his own ship inspecting at a quick glance what he's taking.
OOC:
I think I'm out now.

Christian - you crack the small chest open as you move back to the Diamant, the light glinting off of the small collection of jewels inside brings a smile to your face.
OOC:
You can gain 1 Wealth for the contents of the chest
The crews of the ship clash as the battle is fully joined. The Diamant crew under the direction of Bastien fall on one of the clusters of enemy crew, fully subduing them. The remaining groups of crew clash, casualties being taken on both sides.
OOC:
Crew status:

Diamant crew
Brute Squad St 5 4
Brute Squad St 5

Pirate Crew
Captain - 'Crooked' Fallaci - Regular Wounds 5, Dramatic 1
Brute Squad St 3 2
Brute Squad St 3 2
Brute Squad St 3 2
Brute Squad St 3 0 - Elimiated

Back round to approaches for a new round peeps

OOC:
Would Panache+Convince be a good approach to get some or all of the enemy crew to surrender? Since we got them in a tight situation and all.. If that just plain won't work, I might just go Finesse+Weaponry to join the melée
May 14, 2018 2:26 am
Stashing the gains he assess what he's missed in the fight and stands upright arching his back he picks up a 2 man loading rod and smiles wickedly as he looks about, "Alright lads we've had enough fun, time to get this lot off the deck." he bellows and rushes towards enemy crewmen attempting to barrel into them with his makeshift lance knocking them out or overboard the large man plows towards enemy combatants like a cantankerous bull.
OOC:
My approach it to slam pirates together and send em down or flying Likely just one brute squad in a straight line. Unsure if Large comes into play but Weaponry and Brawn possible for trait and skill plus Sea Legs?

OOC:
The only thing that I'll say is that Bastien would be aware that if these are Pirates as they appear to be then they would be faced with death if they surrender and their captain wins the engagement or death if they surrender and then face trial for the crime of Piracy so attampts to talk them down may not be as effective as you'd hope. Mechanically you'll be able to reduce a Brute Squads strength by 1 per Raise you spend if you're trying to talk them down

OOC:
Yeah Large and Sea legs would definately apply plus usual bonus dice for Flair

OOC:
Ok, I think Bastien make an effort to try to resolve this as peacefully as possible, so I'll go ahead with it, even though it isn't the most effective option. Rolling Panache+Convince

Edit: Three raises: (6, 9) (2, 8) (7,1,2)

Rolls

Panache(3)+Convince(3)+Flair - (7d10)

Works for me, thanks. This fits in for my personal quest story also.

With Christian flailing about along the deck, Llorenco faces the enemy captain. He dive-rolls to the side, Lagos into the railing, races along it and scurries onto the stern railing. Grabbing a sail rope on the run, he leaps, and swings around, looking to slam into the captain and kick him off the deck.
OOC:
Finesse + Athletics sound fair?
Raises 8, 6, 4, 3, 4, 7 : 3 (7+3,6+4,8+3)

I feel kinda bad saying this but three active players makes this run waaay faster I think.

Is that a shot at the one one who left, or one of us who remains? ;-)

The enemy captain seems torn between moving back to deal with Bastien's attempts at outflanking his attack and the incoming form of Llorenco.....
OOC:
Rolling for the captains raises....spending a danger point to give the captain 2 more dice on his Risk

OOC:
Yeah, but the same could be said for most systems on a PbP format - things tend to move much better with a smaller number of reasonably active players

Rolls

Captains roll - (7d10)

(101026475) = 44

OOC:
Raise Summary
Christian - 5
Enemy Captain - 4
Bastien - 3
Llorenco - 3

The fight is heating up on the ship now so there is a Consequence of 3 Regular Wounds from the melee going off around you all - any one can spend a raise to reduce the Consequence by one wound but if there are any left at the end of the round everyone will take the remaining damage (I didn't really understand the way that kind of consequence works last round so I just wanted to be a bit clearer this round)

Christian is up!
May 16, 2018 12:59 pm
Christian roars as he plows into a group of pirates with his makeshift lance to knock them overboard.
OOC:
Using a 2 raises to bank shot a squad with my makeshift lance hopefully into the waters below. I think the Enemy Captain is up before I can spend my second any more raises.

OOC:
Well the remaining enemy Brute Squads are all Strength 2 so you'd need to spend 2 raises to take one out entirely but as the raises are both spent on the same Action you can before the enemy Captain get's to go if you're happy to do so....
