OOC:
Ah well I'll spend two then. updating above.
May 17, 2018 3:10 pm
With a scream Chrisitan knocks two of the enemy crew clear of the Diamant, their shouts cut off as they splash into the foamy waters around the ships.

The enemy captain curses again before turning his back on the approaching Llorenco and making a beeline for Bastien, his sword cutting across the good doctors chest as he tries to regain the initiative in the battle.
OOC:
The enemy Captain is spending one raise to move towards Bastien (due to him still applying Pressure on him) and another to deal 1 regular wound to him.

Raise Summary
Christian - 5 3
Bastien - 3
Llorenco - 3
Enemy Captain - 4 2

All PC's now to go (any order)!

Satterson pounds spinning around as he nears the edge of the deck and focuses his sights on another crew, "Port or Starboard makes no difference off is off!" he yells attempting to run down or off more pirates. If he notices his captain watching him he'll wink since he's under the impression he's doing a good job... realization he might be tasks later to swab the deck due to his current skill demonstration comes to mind and he grits his teeth and barrels into pirates muttering about how he hates cleaning.
OOC:
Burning two more raises to knock another two off.
May 18, 2018 8:38 pm
Suppressing a yelp of pain, Dr. Bastien grits his teeth and parries the next blow. "I've never seen such a boorish blade hand before! It's like watching a baboon trying to sew!"

Speaking up for the pirate crew's benifit, his clear baritone ringing above the clash of weapons. "You're desperate. You have NO HOPE of taking our ship, OR regaining your own. Yet you'd let your men DIE like flies for your OWN FOOLISH PRIDE! Surrender! Surely your men can be spared." He gives the enemy captain a mocking sneer. "Hear, that, pirates? Your Captain would have you DIE for NOTHING! He cares not, so WHY FIGHT FOR HIM?"
OOC:
Spending 2 to make a brute squad surrender (or whatever is appropriate). And, yes I'm prepared for Bastien to have a heated discussion with the captain on behalf of them after the fight.
May 19, 2018 10:30 pm
OOC:
What do I need to do to finish off the swashbuckling attack?
May 20, 2018 10:29 am
As Satterson slams into another group of enemy crew the scatter to the side most definitely out for the count the pair that were about to square off with Bastien share a look and throw their swords to the deck. "COWRDS!!!!" the enemy captain yells as he finds himself fighting alone and surrounded.
OOC:
Qralloq - for a standard 'attack' action you just spend a number of raises that then become regular wounds (so if you spend 2 raises he'd take 2 damage), duellist manoeuvres and some abilities can do more than one damage on a raise

Raise Summary
Llorenco - 3
Enemy Captain - 2
Christian - 3 1
Bastien - 3 1

Llorenco, swinging on the end of a sail rope, extends his feet out and slams into the enemy captain, attempting to kick him right off the deck. Bouncing off the man, he swings around, spinning before dropping back to the top deck. "Ughh, that was a bad idea," he says, staggering dizzily.
OOC:
Spending two raises for damage.
May 22, 2018 8:26 am
The enemy captain draws himself up, seemingly about to launch into some sort of tirade against you all, when his eyes and he gets knocked flying to the deck from Llorenco's well placed boot. A stream of what you can only assume are Vodace curse words issue from the Captain as he regains his feet and slashes out at Llorenco as he swings back past him.
OOC:
Captain is spending 2 raises to do 2 regular wounds to Llorenco. All PC's to go...

Raise Summary
Christian - 1
Bastien - 1
Llorenco - 3 1
Enemy Captain - 2 0

Llorenco, laughing skips back from the attack, but feels the blade draw across his ribs. "Your smell has attracted the biggest flies!"
OOC:
Spending last raise to reduce the wounds.
May 22, 2018 4:12 pm
Satterson smirks at the pirate captain, "I can see why you're at sea with a mouth like that." he watches the man and only defends himself partially.
OOC:
Would like to apply Riot Breaker and then Spending last Raise to soak the wound that gets through.
[ +- ] Riot Breaker

OOC:
Wait, I can reduce the regular wound with a raise? If so I'll do so, build it into the initial insult/parry.

OOC:
Well there aren’t any enemy Brute Squads left to do damage to you, the only damage that was on the table at the moment is from the Consequence of being in the middle of the melee so Riot Breaker wouldn’t really apply but as we’re closing the round out with the melee pretty much over and done with (other than the enemy captain) I’m pretty happy to say you’ve all overcome the consequence (I’ll take a look and see if there’s a better way of handling Consequences as I’m not too happy with how I’ve been running them so far).

OOC:
That’s fine. As that runs you all out of raises we’ll start a fresh round. No consequences on the table as it’s just a straight up fight between the three of you and the enemy captain now. Remember the bonus dice you get for flair (using a skill you’ve not used in this encounter so far and for describing your approach)

OOC:
Nice. Could I use Finesse+Weaponry to disarm the enemy captain? Rolling assuming I can. If not I'll probably try convincing him once more.

Result: Two raises (7+4) (7+4), one leftover dice (2)

Rolls

Finesse(3)+Weaponry(1)+Flair(1) - (5d10)

(74247) = 24

Satterson's breathing calms as the fighting is mostly resolved and he looks around and at their odds. They're far more suitable.

"You lead and they follow... I take it you find yourself a brave man... Just how brave do you think you are to inspire your men to fight a losing battle. If you like I can assist, don't worry I won't shoot you." Satterson states stalking the pirate setting down his makeshift lance and lifts a smaller caliber cannonball and checks the weight. "Shipwright may not like it but... you feel like playing 'Catch'?" he states staring down the captain his eyes a little wild and mischievous.

If I bang up the deck too much the captain 'll likely put me on cleanup duty or the brig... maybe both. he thinks to himself.
OOC:
My approach is to imply I have no qualms throwing a cannonball at a pirate that thinks he has the stones so Brawn + Intimidate? I think Satterson might be able to lob a 8 pounder though decently so it's up to you I guess what you think fits better for the roll. Large and Sea Legs would apply possibly.
May 23, 2018 1:18 pm
Llorenco switches his sword to his off hand while he draws his pistol, saying, "I have no such qualms. How many have you sent to the locker, pirate? How many families torn apart?"

Edit: 4 raises, no left over (10,6+4,9+5,8+7)

That would be viable, what I'll say is you can spend a number of raises on an action for the disarm attempt and on their next action the enemy captain would have to spend an equal amount of raises if they wanted to keep hold of their weapon, sound good?

Sounds good, I'm fine with Large and Sea Legs

With his crew either having surrendered or been incapacitated in one way or another the enemy captain sneers at the ring of enemies around him "So be it then" and he also draws a pistol from his belt and readies himself for what he assumes will be the end of this clash.
OOC:
Spending a Danger Point to add 2 dice to the enemy Captains dice pool and he adds another for being on 1 Dramatic Wound currently

Enemy Captain is on 4 Raises, just waiting on Remnant's roll

The enemycaptain rushes forwards towards Llorenco, the crack of his pistol punching through the air as he shoots. Llorenco staggers back slightly from the impact but is bouyed by the shouts and cheers of the rest of the Diamants crew cheering the three of you on, forming a ring around your fight with the Captain.
OOC:
Captain is spending 1 raise to shoot Llorenco doing a Dramatic Wound. Christian and Llorenco to go...

Raise Summary
Christian - 4
Llorenco - 4
Enemy Captain - 4 3
Bastien - 2
