OOC:
Sorry, my bad. Things got busy.
Bastien looks warily around, taking in the hazy scene. Frowning, he takes up the belay pin, and tries to pry the artifact from the Eisen's grip.

As Bastien looks about for a makeshift weapon he is quite surprised as a shadowy club forms in his hand. He also realises that here (wherever here is) the artefact is firmly in Sattersons grip.
OOC:
Not counting that as having spent a raise as yet

OOC:
Waves I'm still here btw, depending on what he does, I'm either going to try and dismiss the Kraken for a day of liberty if it's in my hand still after the Doc goes. If he takes the item I'll spend a raise to tussle with the Eisen to do some damage, leaving one raise back to keep holding on so I don't get flung off the ship.

Azira? What's Bastien doing???

OOC:
So sorry. I thought I had performed an action, and though we had moved on when I quicky checked last time. Just move Bastien along if I slow down the plot.
Bastien looks to the Eisen, then to Satterson. Seeing Satterson has control over the Artefact, Bastien looks sternly at the Eisen. "It's over. Stand down, don't do anything foolish. We need to calm this beast before it ends us all!"
OOC:
If it's even possible, I'll try to talk him down. In any case, I'm making room for Satterson to deal with the artifact (since he has it), so if it looks like he's going for Satterson, I'll whack him.

As Bastiens voice calls out the Eisens resolve seems to waver for a moment, a slight break in his determination before he turns an angry gaze at Bastien and shouts out something in a very rough Eisen dialect which is fairly obviously not complimentary. After a moment something else seems to pass behind his eyes before his form seems to turn into mist and drift towards the keel of the vessels floating above you.
OOC:
Mechanically I'm treating this as putting pressure onto the Eisen unless he does something targeting Bastien
Satterson - you are aware of Bastiens voice but only vaguely, the sound seems oddly muted as your eyes are drawn up above the island you are standing on....a large eye stares down at you, deep green like the colour of the far ocean. As you lock your gaze with it you feel a deep, alien inteligence trying to push against your will. Focusing yourself you shout an order to the Kraken, trying to get it to withdraw but, for now, it just keeps it's eye locked with you.

Llorenco - you see the remaining tentacles around the ship go still, even as the Diamant keeps unloading round after round into the Kraken. You also see the Eisen release his grip on the artefact and shake his head, seeming to return to his senses. You realise your companions still seem somewhat senseless and under the artefacts influence as the Eisen reaches for his cutlass.
OOC:
All PC's to go, the Kraken is a tad distracted with what Satterson is trying (it'll take a few more raises to fully influence it). The Consequence of the fires is still in play.

Raises:
Bastien - 2 x Raises
Satterson - 2 x Rasies
Llorenco - 1 x Raises
Enemy Captain 0 x Raises
Tentacle 0 x Raises
[ +- ] Opportunities
[ +- ] Consequences
[ +- ] Ship Damage Track
[ +- ] Enemy Captain Damage

Llorenco, confused by the krakens behavior, decides not to chum for sharks while swimming. He signals for the cannons to reload chain shot, but to otherwise hold fire. Watchlist carefully he yells, "You black hearted wretches I want sand water on those fires, or I'll feed you to that beast myself!" He proceeds to organize the effort.

Spending the last raise to put out fires.

Made a slight change to my last post, the consequence of getting knocked overboard is not in play at the moment

"Oi, you green eyed scallywag, you get in line and follow orders unless you want to be put in the brig! Don't think I won't find a pot to put you in and take you on land..." Satterson barks staring at the eye and scowling.
OOC:
I'll put the last two raisies into getting him to follow the orders. I mentally throw out a picture of putting the large kraken in a massive pot and sailing back to land and dropping him off on a field as I just plow the field and grow turnips... because that's probably scary to a large sea kraken... or boring.

Bastien glides a hand through the mists where the Eisen stood. "Most interesting..." Looking back to Satterson's battle of will, he steels himself and reaches for the artifact. "I believe you just about scared it off, Mr Satterson. But let me lend a hand just in case." Gripping the artifact tightly, he adds his will against the beast.
OOC:
Spending my remaining raises to aid Satterson in controlling the kraken

Llorenco - as the crew begin racing about to deal with the fires on the Tempest you turn your attention back to the others. As the Eisen stands, ready to deliver a strike with the cutlass, he suddenly staggers as both ships are rocked.

All - The Krakens tentacles whip suddenly back beneath the surface and the enormous body of the creature begins to sing further into the depths. Bastien and Satterson both find yourselves standing back on the deck of the Souther Star, the strange glow from the artefact fading as your senses return to you. Cheers reach all of your ears as the crew of the Southern Star begin throwing down weapons and surrendering, the battle definitely having turned against them.

The Eisen pushes himself up from the rail, a look of anger and incredulity across his face. "NOOO! The beast is mine!" he yells before turning and launching himself over the side of the ship. Quickly running to the side you stare down but do not catch sight of him amidst the wreckage and roiling sea.

A short while passes as you all slump to the deck whilst your crew secures the enemy vessel. The sky begins to clear and you all feel a wave of relief that you have made it through the battle in one piece and it occurs to you that whilst Captain Aipajawa will doubtless be annoyed that the Kraken slipped away you will be returning to port with two more ships, whatever they have in their hold, and what you assume is some sort of Syrneth Artefact. Taking a drink from whatever is handy you all share a toast as the sun begins to set........

The camera pans away from the ships towards the sunset. A lone figure, clutching at a piece of driftwood struggles to make progress towards an island in the distance. Casting an angry gaze back at the three vessels in the distance he snarls and spits, the light catching on a medalion around his neck bearing the logo of the Atabean Trading Company, before he turns his attention to struggling towards land.....

And that's the end of Release the Kraken I'll pick up a conversation for how this went in the OOC thread :)
