"And there was mention of a blasted person with one arm called 'The Eisen' mentioned. Captain, they all have that odd creepy look about them they do, you know it, like they're half dead inside with their soul leaking out. This Fuchs captain considered to attempts to control the Kraken with some assistance by the Eisen for some reason with the help of an artifact they possess." Satterson adds handing over the papers.
Jun 18, 2018 9:26 pm
Llorenco nods at the others' summaries, but has nothing else to add so keeps his trap shut.
Jun 19, 2018 8:47 am
Bastien shakes his head slightly. "Mere superstitions, I wouldn't give it any though, Captain. Sounds to me like they had scurvy and the tale grew from there. I'd agree the 'Eisen' fellow seems dangerous though, we should keep an eye out for him. And liberate the artifact for a museum if we can."

He pauses for a minute. "He's flying a red pennant. That's how the pirates knew whom to attack. If we're attacked again, we could hoist one, assuming there are more hired goons out here."

The captain grins slightly at the comment about the 'mythical' Kraken but then her face rapidly darkens as you mention the ATC. She turns he head and spits noisily on the floor, uncomfortably close to you all in the close confines "Curse those devils! No matter what you believe if they have an interest in the Kraken you can be assured no good will come of it.". She thinks for a moment and considers Bastien's last words before grinning again "That is a good plan doctor. Make it so, on the Diamant and our new prize, this Tempest as her former crew refers to her as." she considers you all for a moment "With a few extra hands do you three think you could take command of the Tempest? I'm thinking the extra guns may come in handy if we run into more trouble."
Jun 19, 2018 2:33 pm
Satterson nods "We'll be able to definitely orchestrate more complicated naval tactics with an additional vessel...." he states his mind already turn it's gears as he rubs his chin with the palm of one hand a bit of a smirk coming across his face.

Llorenco rubs his chin. We're not so fat with swabbies as for it to be an easy thing. Maybe if we keep the Diamant lightly crewed between them, in case of combat, she holding back, then as long as a powerful squall no hits us, we be fine."

Bastien frowns slightly before making an acknowledging nod to the Captain. "We shall make it so, Captain."

Oh, what have you gotten yourself into now Bastien?
Jun 21, 2018 12:31 pm
The captain nods "Very well then, see about selecting some of the crew to man the Tempest with you." she looks to Bastien "Doctor, you have spent more time with the former crew of the Tempest than anyone else. If you feel any of them are particularly trustworthy then it may be advisable to select those to form part of the prize crew as they are at least familiar with that vessel".

She stands, the pending dismissal hanging in the air "Anything else?"
OOC:
If you have nothing else you want to discuss just give me a short description of what preparations you are making
Jun 21, 2018 12:39 pm
"Yes, Captain. I think I got through to some of them when I administered to them. Especially those that laid down their arms before the fight was over. I'll check up on them." Bastien gives Captain Aipajawa and the others another sharp nod, and makes for the door.
OOC:
Checking in on the new recruits, perhaps taking Lorenco or Satterson with him for that. Next, making sure both ships are decently stocked in what medical supplies there are, and giving the Surgeon's mate more hasty medical lectures than he's ready for. (Remember if x then y, unless z etc, etc)
Jun 21, 2018 12:56 pm
"Captain for personal reasons was the Pirate Captain attacking Avalonian ships as well?" Satterson asks.
Jun 21, 2018 1:16 pm
After the Captain replies to Christians question, Llorenco will excuse himself and make sure that the crew are repairing damage sustained during the battle - first to the Diamant and then to the new one.

Only after they know how seaworthy both vessels can be will he start planning for a skeleton crew for the pirate, unless the doctor or Christian get started on that first.

Satterson - the captain shrugs "I would assume he would have if one crossed his path, the only ships he was told to avoid would be flying red and it's pretty safe to assume they are ATC vessels" she spits on the deck again at the mention of the ATC.

Llorenco/Bastien - Under Llorenco's eye the crew work quickly on the rudder of the Tempest and in short order the ship is repaired and good to sail once more. Bastien quickly works to select only the members of the enemy crew who seemed most reliable and drafts them into helping him move the medical supplies over to the Tempest whilst he briefs his now extremely nervous looking mate who is facing the lone responsibility for the care of the remaining crew of the Diamant
OOC:
I'll leave this until tomorrow in case you have anything else you want to do before I move things along to the next scene
Jun 25, 2018 2:12 pm
Satterson nods and once the captain is done with him he asks the pirate directly, if he hadn't he would nod and leave him to his fate. If he had Satterson would nod and not feel bad about tossing a cannonball at his genitals.
OOC:
Meta: Looking to see if Privateer advantage would be achieved: Earn a HP when you defeat enemies of the crown of Avalon. If he's attacked Avalon merchants or naval ships I figure that would count only specifically.

OOC:
Remnant - as he was instructed to attack any vessel not flying a red pennant then I'm happy with that interpretation so you can gain a HP.

Sorry for the delay here peeps, it was my birthday a couple of days ago so I've been a bit more tied up with family stuff than I was anticipating. I'll get this moving again before the end of the weekend

OOC:
Been a minute.
Satterson boards the other ship with his bag and gear.

The work to get the ships ready carries on through most of the night, the crews working hard to get the minor damage done in the clash repaired and checking to ensure that both are fully seaworthy. The following morning comes around and you find the Tempest and the Diamant cutting swiftly through the waves. The former crew of the Tempest who were deemed to be too untrustworthy to keep aboard were loaded into a ships boat within sight of the shoreline of Jaragua, their captain however remains clapped in irons below decks of the Diamant.

As the morning passes into the afternoon you all find time to get yourselves familiar with your new schooner and are suitably impressed with the Castillian built vessel. Whilst you are some distance from the Diamant to maximize the amount of the horizon you can scan together in pursuit of your quarry you are close enough to see a signal passing between the two vessels.
OOC:
And we're off again, going to start things off quite steady for the moment and just let you have a bit of RP to get your 'sea legs' back under you (and me!). As we're into a new scene any non-dramatic wounds you have taken will be healed.

Satterson stays professional but curt with their 'new crew' watching from above in the crow's nest which surprises a few of the crew for a man of his size to be in such a position by volunteering. He walks along boughs and climbs riggings easily enough showing himself to be surprisingly agile and an experienced soldier at sea. He splits his time between the over watch of the crew and his associates in case something aboard happens and the horizon in all directions in case something new enters their area checking in regularly on both accounts.

He muses on picking on someone his own size in the next conflict when he has a few moments peace during their time at sea and familiarizes himself with the ship and it's strengths and weaknesses.

Llorenco, taking a turn at their shared command of the Tempest stands on a crate near the helmsman, a filthy man from the old crew and in need of watching, for now. "She be cutting clean through these waters, thinner than that whaler, si," he says to the helmsman. He fingers his sword hilt idly, wondering how quickly his height, or lack thereof, will require the next demonstration of the folly of disrespect. "How long did you sail with Crooked Mateo, before he lead you into this mess?"
Aug 13, 2018 7:01 am
Bastien steps out on the deck and sighs. Having spent the morning taking stock of the somewhat lacking medical supplies, and the afternoon teaching the former cook's how to be useful but out of his way as a surgeon's mate, he takes in the ship completely for the first time.

Smaller. But nimble, surely. Sure to disagree with my stomach once we hit rougher seas.

He stands by the rail, looking out at the horizon pondering the truth behind the mythical creature they are hunting.
Aug 13, 2018 9:39 am
Llorenco - the man stands at the tiller, his eyes flicking between his duties and yourself seeming to expect his good fortune of not being keelhauled at the least to evaporate if the mood takes you or one of the other 'officers'. He thinks for a few moments before responding, his accent placing him of Avolonian heritage "Aye, the Tempest has always been a fairly settled lady to sail. She has a tendency to let ye know her mind if ye take her into the rough stuff but she's quite well mannered asides from that" he smiles fondly, his suspicions seeming to fade for the moment "I was only with the old captain for a few months. My old ship, the Curse of the Rambler, made the crossing fine but a storm swept in as we tried to make it through the Devils Strait. Next thing I know I'm being fished out of the sea but some of the natives here about and ended up in San Sancha trying to scrape by" he shrugs looking a bit resigned to how his fate has gone thus far "When I got word the cap'ain was taking on crew me empty belly kindof got the best of my good senses as it were and I signed on without asking too many questions". He seems about to continue but quickly clams up, giving you another suspicious glance seeming worried he may have said too much of the wrong thing.

Bastien - As you reach the deck you see the crew working well, those who joined from the Tempest's original crew getting the odd angry glance from the crew originally of the Diamant but these fade as the day progresses and the need to get the various tasks done overriding any animosity between the two groups for the time being. As you stand at the rail you feel a blessedly cool breeze wash over you and you begin to hope for a pleasant evening before you catch the low rumble of thunder in the distance.

Satterson - You make a similar observation of the crew from your position, everyone seeming to be working well for the time being. As you revel in the relative solitude of being up in the nest you also hear the sound of thunder in the distance. Looking tin the direction that you see dark clouds gathering you make out the flash of lightning but just as you are about to call out to let the rest of the crew know your eye catches a different flash, cannon fire maybe? Looking through your spy glass you make out a ship just inside the storm that is firing but you cannot make out any obvious target for it's cannon fire.
