Race: Human (Porph)
Virtues: Leon 3, Eyrie 4, Grand 4 (reduced), Enlight 5, Nemesis 5, Daimon 5 (boosted)
Quick Observation and Deep Observation
When in combat, a Porph spends every round that they move less than 15 ft. making a Quick Observation, and every round that they take no Movement Phase instead making a Deep Observation. A Quick Observation will allow the Porph to recognize a creature, weapon, or spell they have not encountered before that battle, until a day has passed. If no creatures, weapons, or spells in the battle are new to the observer, then the Quick Observation is instead used to learn about such things on the fly, rather than sitting down and taking time to study (one QO = 1 hour of study). A Deep Observation will allow the same recognition for 1 week instead of 1 day, or bestow roughly 1 day’s worth of study. Study time lasts twice as long as recognition would.
Special Movement
A Porph has a movement speed of 15 ft. per round, but does not have to spend actions to tap into magic or cast once. If they desire, they may lose this advantage and increase their movement speed to 30 ft. per round. (Those who lack magic or magic items have an automatic 30 ft. speed)

Sweet! Now to begin the equipment process.

We never figured out your "Class of Progression." Is your character from an ancient, pre-medieval culture, or a more Middle Ages/medieval culture, or something closer to modern. The closest to the present you get is the Third Class of Progression, which is somewhere between Late Imperial and early Industrial.

This will determine your familiarity with weapons and other kinds of technology, as well as the kind of society you're used to seeing. More importantly for this section of cc, it determines how much money you get.

I'm actually thinking more third class, but I saw that the magic fit more in Second tier so I'll go with that.
Sep 3, 2018 3:34 am
You know, thanks for setting me straight on that. There are no magic characters in Third Class, so yeah. It's first or second.

Second Tier means your base value is 2d10x20 gp.
(Roll d10 twice. Multiply the total by 20.)

So, im new.... I can't remember how to roll -_-.
Sep 3, 2018 3:52 am
Oh sorry, no prob. Just go to that Advanced tab next to the Post button. Hit add. Type what the roll is for, then put the dice in Roll.

Rolls

Example - (2d10)

(72) = 9

?

Rolls

(2d10+0) - (2d10+0)

(1010) = 20

Yup, times 20 means you have 400 gp as your base value. Next, decide if you're wealthy, middle class, lower class, or impoverished.
Sep 3, 2018 4:10 am
Oh mmm.....
I'm thinking wealthy or middle.... But I know I don't have any craft or making skills and all talk skills and thats more an upper class thing so that seems to fit.

How much is a horse?
Also I dont know if I want a true sword, but is a cane sword an option?
Sep 3, 2018 4:32 am
The Cane Sword would be an Exotic purchase, so it would cost extra. I'll dig that up when we get to it. Technically you don't have all your money yet. I know, wow. As for the horse, I haven't set fixed prices for animals yet, not sure I will. You tend to get horses from auctions or horse theft, not just buying them straight out a stable.

Wealthy means you get...sigh, triple your base value, plus an extra 100 gp. For a total of 1300 gp. Plus the 20 for being human, plus 0 for not being Faery, plus 50 for being an Aesthete. No magical bonus. That comes to a grand and final total of...geez

1370 gp

Let's start SPENDING!

I have written for personal orders that the artisan specifies the fee. But we're not in gameplay just yet, so I'll run an estimate. The average value that an exotic adds to a weapon purchase is 4 gp. A light steel weapon adds +15 gp. A rapier costs 20 gp. So let's say that the weapon costs 28 gp. That's the median price.

Minus your cane sword, you now have 1342 gp. Would you like any additional weapons?
Sep 3, 2018 4:46 am
No more weapons, carrying a weapon might put off the wrong air. (Im an esxort after all, right?)
Sep 3, 2018 4:51 am
Okay, here's where I inform you that your class means as little or as much as you want it to in canon. Their existences are all justified in my lore, but your character can be whoever you want. You are not constrained in roleplay, only in what your character is capable of on a statistical level. Does that make sense?

That being said, the more innocuous armor options are Cloth Robes (1 gp), Cloth Tabard (2 gp), and Armored Coat (4 gp). Which would you prefer?
Sep 3, 2018 4:52 am
Yep, it's an in character decision.
Sep 3, 2018 4:53 am
I'm assuming the more expensive is better?
I'll take a cloth robe and an armored cost.

In most cases but not all. Newer armor is generally more expensive than old, even if it's not as good. In this case, I'd say the Armored Coat is far stronger than the Robes, which are slightly superior to the Tabard. The coat doesn't look like normal clothes though. People will be able to tell that you're packing a little extra oomph to keep yourself safe.
Sep 3, 2018 5:05 am
Does the tabard look like normal clothes?
Sep 3, 2018 5:08 am
None of these look like normal clothes except the Robe, because it's not technically armor. Just an extra layer. I mentioned it for the Armored Coat because it's called a coat. Which would sound like normal clothes reasonably.
