Bás sheathes his sword once again as the giant is felled. He bows his head momentarily and mutters a few words of thanks to his Mistress before turning back to the group. "It's hard to build a strategy amid this much uncertainty. We need information more than anything else."

He moves toward the restored massive shape of the giant and inspects it for any hint or clue that could lend insight into the current goings on.
OOC:
Ill make a couple rolls. Take the one most appropriate to the situation or have me roll a different one. Happy to oblige.

The giant's body holds no clues but you do find a Potion of Healing.

Now that the threat of the giant has passed you notice a bear in the western corner that, now that you think about it, was snarling the entire time you were fighting the "giant" However the bear is only the size of a small house cat, so it was paid no mind. Now that its giant master is dead it seems to have begun to calm down. As you approach it however you seem to observe the curse wearing off, but instead of increasing in size, the small animal begins to convulse...

Say whats we got in that thur box? Rizak starts heading over to the "chest" stepping over the now giant goblin or the now regular giant XD
Oct 24, 2018 9:17 pm
Nikos watches the small animal begin to spasm with a degree of revulsion, until she hears Rizak expressing interest in the box. She thinks about the prospect of treasure for a moment, but then makes a connection. "Rizak, hold!" She shouts, turning to the man with an outstretched arm. "It would be reasonable to assume that it's the box that's causing this curse..."
Oct 24, 2018 9:25 pm
OOC:
thats a great assumption.
That don't make no sense, how could a box do this? Rizak continues to the box
OOC:
do i see anything on the box? oh smh...

The stone chest is carved directly into the floor of the chamber. A heavy stone lid, which weighs several hundred pounds, rests against the wall next to the chest. Runes are carved into the chest, the lid, and the floor in front of the chest.
OOC:
From where you are you Can see that the chest is empty except for a crumpled note in the bottom.

"Wait for a spell caster to check before you touch anything!" Thrune yells in the direction of the chest as he hurries to the convulsing bear. When he reaches the cursed creature, Thrune casts the "Spare the Dying" cantrip on it. "Easy, Blooddrinker," he says in a calm voice.

I don't know if this will help, but I have to do something, thinks Thrune.
OOC:
I don't think dwarves are happy when they have to multitask.

Bás, unconvinced the danger is passed, stands with his sword resting against his pauldron. As the others acertain the nature of the box, he keeps a watch that nothing surprises them from any part of the cave system around them.

I know treasure comes in all forms but this don't look like no treasure. But this does remind me of this one time...
[ +- ] Rizak's continued story

So why don't one of you facny magic peoples check it out. I came for that coin treauser not this edjumacation carp.. Rizak exclaims while poking the stone chest with one of the javelins.

Rolling her eyes as Rizak begins to ramble, Nikos shakes her head and draws the halberd from her back. Cautiously, she approaches the chest and attempts to spear the piece of paper, lifting it out to read it.

"hey nah that could be some what did to these fellas thur , best you being careful"
Nov 2, 2018 2:06 am
Thrune- You are unable to determine the cause of the shrunken bears ailment and after a few moments it stops convulsing and dies. It does not regrow to its original size though.

Nikos- You eventually manage to get the note from the box. It reads the following:
[ +- ] Note - common

OOC:
Do we know where nearest clan of Cloud Giants are?
Thrune spits on the ground. "Cloud Giants."
Nov 2, 2018 4:00 am
OOC:
im so wait for exploding runes to still happen
Nov 2, 2018 7:10 am
Thrune adds, "If anyone wants to search elsewhere in this cavern, go ahead. I will keep watch but we shouldn’t linger here."
Nov 2, 2018 10:02 am
Bàs nods at Thrune's statement. "We shall keep watch together. Everyone need not search, but if trouble comes having more than one person in a position to see it is only prudent."
Nov 4, 2018 3:28 am
Thrune - you can make a history check only because you are proficient.

Further careful investigation causes you to come to the conclusion that the runes on the chest are part of a magical curse that causes the victims to shrink in size and stature.

So ends the investigation of the first treasure hoard location.

What do you do next?
Nov 4, 2018 4:30 am
OOC:
This being AL, I vote we go straight to the next location but make sure we fit in a long rest along the way.
Thrune thinks about what his elders told him about Cloud Giants.
