OOC:
Would it be OK if Rizak drank the healing potion Bas has?
"We need to rest up a little then check out the boulder pyramid."

Thrune checks the collars of the badgers for any identifying markings.

OOC:
don't you have spare the dying Thrune?
Nov 20, 2018 1:00 am
OOC:
Thrune does. I would’ve mentioned it if Nikos wasn’t stable.
Nov 20, 2018 1:11 am
OOC:
Bas is unconscious, it’s up to you guys to decide whether or not to take his potion.
You get the impression from the collars that these were in fact someone’s pets.

The pyramid, upon closer inspection, is indeed comprised of gigantic boulders that must have rolled down the mountainside over the centuries. Whatever stacked them like this must have been very strong or used powerful magic. The boulders at the bottom appear to have been fused together in some way, while the ones further up are simply stacked carefully or held together with mortar. Many of the boulders are etched with runes.

OOC:
Before we proceed, since this is AL, should we worry about getting the party back to town to recuperate? I wouldn't want to use up a healing potion if we don't need to, but both Rizak and Thrune are hurt and if this part of the adventure isn't almost over, I would want the group to heal up as much as possible before continuing.
Thrune tries to read the runes.
OOC:
Rolling in case they're magical runes and not just a language.

Rizak will sit down against some boulders making sure the others are safe. "Dam we took a lickin from them hungry badeers huh?!"

OOC:
Do unconscious characters get to recover some hit points after a short rest?
Nov 21, 2018 2:38 am
OOC:
You guys can do whatever you like...this section is not quite over but if you wanted to take a long rest you, I will be honest and say I would openly roll for a random encounter if you did. (D20 - random encounter on a roll of 18 or higher)

As far as the recovering hit points in a short rest for an unconscious player - I rule that to do so another player would need to sacrifice their short rest in order to tend the wounds of the unconscious character in order for them to awaken and heal.

"Verily. Someone trained those badgers well."

"Rizak, what do think of you drinking Bas' healing potion, and I tend Nikos during the short rest. Then you two can explore the boulder pyramids if you think that would be worthwhile. The treasure, or another snide note, is probably here somewhere."

"Then we can do another short rest, get Bas on his feet, and head back to town."

OOC:
Just gonna move things along...Happy Thanksgiving all!
After much deliberation, you decide it best to take your chances and take a long rest...You take turns on watch so that you each are able to get a bit of shut eye and a bite to eat. After the rest concludes Bas and Nikos awaken, feeling much better.
OOC:
No random encounter, dont think its AL legal after thinking about it. EVeryone gets the affects of a Long rest.
The pyramid of stone awaits. What do you do next?
OOC:
Thrune you are unable to discern the nature or function of the runes.

Sometime during the long rest, Thrune will take the least bloodied collar off of a badger, clean it as best he can, and put it in his backpack. Someone in town might know who owns these badgers, he thinks.

After the rest, Thrune starts with a prayer, "Thank you, Lady Sharindlar, for bestowing your healing mercy upon us."

He then turns to the group, "At the pyramid, I offer to cast a Guidance cantrip to increase anyone's skills in searching for secret openings, deciphering runes, or whatever else you think may help. Although I must do it one at a time."

Yea, lets just find this treasurse before it gets to weird in here.

Rizak continues along the tracks.

OOC:
No worries guys...thats why we play pbp right?

Corrected the spell slots...they were intended for Thrune not you...

At this point you guys main option would be to try and scale the pyramid to see what is on top...anyone wishing to attempt this please roll an athletics check.

OOC:
Lets do it to it!
"Whatchall watin fur, last one up gets less treasure!" Rizak says playfully as he starts his climb up the structure.

Thrune casts the Guidance cantrip on himself, then climbs up the pyramid.
OOC:
I realize that's two actions.

Rolls

Climbing the pyramid (Athletics) - (1d20+1)

(5) + 1 = 6

OOC:
Would it be worth it to roll to add the Guidance bonus to this Climb roll? I don't think it would matter.
