OOC:
I am under the impression we can't get in the pyramid. The Sleet Giant King reference is a clue. Not a great one, but what the heck, they're rocks.

OOC:
but screamed then nothing? died? whent into outerspace?

OOC:
You have not climbed to the top of the pyramid. hint hint You may continuing ascending...you need two successfull Athletic checks...any fails will inflict damage.
Dec 9, 2018 5:46 am
Since the party is not rushed for time in a big way, Thrune will cast Guidance on Rizak if he wants to continue climbing, then when he's done, on Nikos if she wants to continue climbing, then, when she's done, on himself to keep climbing. Thrune repeats the process on all three. He is definitely ascending to the top.

If someone is badly hurt while climbing, Thrune will stop to cast Cure Wounds so the party member can continue.
OOC:
I hope that's not too confusing. I am trying to put in all the contingencies and make sure the characters survive the climb.

Rolls

Ascending (Athletics) and Guidance bonus - (1d20+1, 1d4)

1d20+1 : (13) + 1 = 14

1d4 : (3) = 3

Ascending (Athletics) and Guidance bonus - (1d20+1, 1d4)

1d20+1 : (19) + 1 = 20

1d4 : (3) = 3

Rizak easily makes the climb up to the top.
OOC:
your plan is good Thrune...you can make your Athletic Checks...DC10 2 passes and you make it to the top. I will roll damage if necessary.

Actually, the rolls I made were for Thrune's ascendance with Guidance. What I wanted was to assume Thrune stopped and gave Guidance to whoever wanted it and they would roll their own 1d4 bonus.

Thrune makes it to the top with no issue after providing guidance to the others.

Rolling Nikos's Athletics checks w/Guidance

Rolls

Athletics 1 w/guidance - (1d20+5, 1d4)

1d20+5 : (20) + 5 = 25

1d4 : (1) = 1

Athletics 2 w/guidance - (1d20+5, 1d4)

1d20+5 : (7) + 5 = 12

1d4 : (1) = 1

All 3 of you make it to the top of the pyramid with relative ease. The top of the pyramid is not capped; instead, four boulders frame a large opening between them. That opening, at the moment, is plugged with the body of a giant. Its thick hide and hairless body makes you think it is a stone giant, but it is difficult to tell: you can only see its enormous legs and backside. The rest is facing down into the top of the pyramid. Each of the four boulders at the top contains a series of runes. The runes glow with an obvious magical light.

I know I'm not actually there, so sorry to interject. I'm just having a hard time understand what is being described here. Is there a square hole at the top of the pyramid where a giant took a head-dive into it and got stuck? So his legs and feet are pointing up into the air, head down into the pyramid?

Rizak wishes to try and move one of the boulders either rotate or move it out of the square formation.

Rolls

Str (if needed) - (1d20+1)

(5) + 1 = 6

Dec 10, 2018 7:18 pm
"I will try to read these runes. They might be a warning."

Thrune casts Guidance on himself, then tries to recognize the runes.

Rolls

Rune reading with Guidance (Arcana) - (1d20+1, 1d4)

1d20+1 : (14) + 1 = 15

1d4 : (4) = 4

Thats basically what they are seeing yes!

As you inspect the boulders the runes arrange themselves into a form you can read. Looking at all four boulders together, this is the message:

͞
[ +- ] Rune Message
Dec 11, 2018 3:08 pm
While Thrune ruminates on the runes' meaning, he taps the giant's legs with his war hammer to determine if he is a living or ex-giant.
OOC:
I have a guess for the answer to the rune message. I am hiding it below in case others like to solve word puzzles as much as I do.

So Thrune is being greedy? That’s so unlike a dwarf. :-)
Thrune tells Rizak and Nikos the rune message so they can guess or confirm his guess.
Dec 11, 2018 9:43 pm
"Yea I don't know, Probalby got something to do with some Giant thing? Whats bigger then dragons?" Rizak kind of scratches his head as he leans up against the boulder he was tryin to move.
