Thrune stands by the rocks and proclaims, "Hail Dragon Queen!"
Dec 16, 2018 7:43 am
As soon as Thrune finishes the phrase, the light emanating from the runes ceases to glow. You struggle for a few minutes but then manage to remove the giants body from within the opening of the pyramid.

While moving the giants body you find a pouch containing a scroll. The writing on the scroll seems indecipherable to you but you can tell it is of an arcane nature.

You peer into the now clear opening of the pyramid. At the bottom of the pyramid, 60 feet down, lies several open chests. A few broken, burned, and bloated kobold bodies lie amid the chests. After scanning the area for a minute, you notice a large hole in the ground at the corner of the pyramid. A few small digging implements, picks and shovels sized forkobolds, lie broken near the hole.

Thune puts the scroll in his backpack, "We probably need a spell to read this."

From the top, he looks in the hole in the corner, to see if it is empty. "Rizak, if we need to, would you mind climbing down? I'll stay up here to pull you up if necessary."

Happy Holidays all!
The hole in the corner looks like a tunnel the kobolds came in through.

Rizak has no trouble climbing down into the pyramid. A thorough check of the area reveals the following.

All that is left of the treasure is a necklace made of human ears, a magnifying glass with the glass missing, and a deck of playing cards marked so inexpertly that anyone could tell. All are worthless except for the novelty.

Kobold tracks indicate that a large number of those creatures were here, and they tunneled into the pyramid through the floor.

A crumbled piece of paper rests next to one of the kobold bodies, and it contains the following instructions, written in Common:

Merry of the Christmas to you all :)
Rizak will holler back up the opening "Hey, There some of dem kobalds beating us to this treasure. All thats left down hur is some woar souvinears! Something about Sone-kined bothers!"
OOC:
Is there any signs of combat? if so could i possibly tell who the combatants were? Also is the hole they dug thru sealed?

I hope everyone had/has/will have the happiest of holidays!
Thrune yells backs down. "Souvenears? Kobolds lobe to collect those."

"Please hold onto that note. It is a clue we may need. Lord Thrym is the leader of the frost giants. It appears they and the stone giants are not allies."

Thrune helps Rizak back up when he's ready.

Make an Intelligence check, optional

No, there does not appear to be any signs of a battle. The hole is kobold sized and appears to be open.

OOC:

once rizak gets up hell mention the small hole that the kobalds probably came from.
Jan 2, 2019 6:22 pm
"Good work down there. As much I would like to chase and destroy those kobolds, we should probably rest up in town and continue to the next location."

"Ya, i reckon so, its getting a bit late. I can only imagine the treck back to be just as long. Say you reckon them badgers belonged to the kobolds?" Rizak asks as they get ready for the decent down the pyramid.
Jan 2, 2019 7:13 pm
"I believe the badgers belonged to the humans who built this pyramid. When we get to town, I want to ask around to see if anyone recognizes the collar I have."

Thrune casts Guidance on Rizak and himself before descending.
Jan 2, 2019 7:24 pm
"Arent them collars not written in kobold?"
Jan 2, 2019 11:02 pm
"It might be. I don't read or write Kobold or Goblin." Thrune pulls out the collar from his backpack. Thrune tries to recognize the lettering if not the meaning of the words on the collar before displaying it to Rizak. "Do you?"

Neither of you recognize the writings on the collar.

You head back to Parnast and experience no troubles along the way. Resting up in the inn you meet some new companions.
OOC:
Kharvir and Elaris may introduce yourselves now if you are still playing after all this time.
