OOC:
]OK..sorry for the long disappearance...at the tail end of our vacation my wife got ill...ended up being gall stones and the other night she had to have her gallbladder removed. Things are starting to settle out again...always something.
Thrune takes a close look at the second door and finds it neither trapped nor locked. The door opens into an unlit corridor of unworked stone. This natural tunnel soon splits.

OOC:
No apologies necessary. Wishing your wife the speediest of recoveries.
Thrune describes what he sees to the others, then adds, "So, we have a decision. Which should we try first: the north tunnel, the upper east tunnel, or the lower east tunnel?"
OOC:
We also should determine a marching order. Thrune can be first or second, depending on if you want to take advantage of his darkvision.

OOC:
Rizak does not care nor can he see in dark but he has a lantern(hooded). so i probably would be first or last.
"Well what reckon ya think thur be in 2 tunnels?"
Feb 1, 2019 4:12 pm
Elaris moves closer to Rizak "I’m not sure, but if you lead with that lantern, we will follow." he says as he quickly scans the two paths.
Feb 1, 2019 5:41 pm
"I may be overthinking this, but I suggest we go with the southernmost tunnel, as it is the closest to an untrapped door."
OOC:
I wasn't clear on this earlier, and in case it matters: Thrune stepped over one square to the right of his placement on the map above to check out the tunnel before going back and talking with his companions.

Did he notice anything obvious about the other door from this distance?

OOC:
i look uglier from farther away :D
"I Rekon i could do that. Which one wes be gettin inta?"
Rizak sets out his lanter and prepares it.

"STOP!" Karvir commands in a near shout, palm held out toward Mira and the mule. Then, melodramatically, "Ahead lies danger and beasts of ancient horror - no place for one so young and sweet as yourself. Stay here and watch over... that beast." He eyes the mule with disdain as the fetches a coil of rope and places it over one shoulder. He then adjusts it and places it over the other. He considers for a moment and then places it on one shoulder, crossing over his chest. He smooths his finery and reaches out to take the lit lantern that Mira has prepared for him while he worked on his rope.

"I will lead the tail end of our party."
OOC:
Karvir will be last in the marching orders. He carries a lantern. His hired servant, Mira, and the mule will wait outside by the entrance.

OOC:
so 2 lanterns :D I like it

OOC:
So, the marching order is Rizak, Thrune, Elaris, and Karvir down the southernmost tunnel. I think I should've rolled something for my question about the other door, so I will now.
Thrune looks in the direction of the other door as they head down the tunnel. He is looking for signs of a trap on the door.

Rolls

Trap checking on other door (Perception) - (1d20+2)

(5) + 2 = 7

Feb 7, 2019 10:17 pm
"Alright, ye got yer gear ready? Lets vamanos!" Rizak says as he shoulders his halberd and holds the lantern to go down the tunnel.

He'll keep an eye out for anything "fishy"

Rolls

a whopping +2 perception - (1d20+2)

(16) + 2 = 18

Thrune - You don't notice any traps on the other day as you move by it. As you enter the tunnel however, you pick up on the fact that the wall on the inside is not carved out for a path and sports no door.

Rizak - You lead the group down the southern path, eventually coming to an intersection. Keeping a sharp eye out you notice that the flooring of the intersection just doesn't look right (red X on map). Upon closer investigation you discover it to be some kind of pit trap.

"Whew! Nice find, Rizak. I vote we keep moving south, but any direction seems as good as another."
OOC:
If we walk using active instead of passive Perception, does that slow our progress?
Feb 8, 2019 7:14 pm
OOC:
Spelunking rules apply right?
Rizak would help maneuver the pit trap as possible as we cary on south.

Rolls

Back on track +2 spot - (1d20+2)

(6) + 2 = 8

OOC:
sometimes, it depends on the module. There was one i ran the guys thru a bit if they did x,y, or z it would slow by 2,4,5 hours respectively.

"What's the rush, team? I assure you, Mira will be fine if we must take our time."
Feb 9, 2019 10:37 pm
OOC:
Active perception will not slow your progress but I would ask for a fresh perception roll as you move past the trap. How are you navigating past the trap?
Feb 11, 2019 5:04 pm
i would think either activating it and stepping over the to the ledges? or just steping over it? is there a lip?
Feb 12, 2019 9:12 pm
OOC:
You could attempt to leap over it but due to the angle to safely jump I would ask for an athletics or acrobatics check from anyone attempting to do so. Otherwise how do you wish to trigger it?
Feb 12, 2019 10:48 pm
Thrune thinks about what Rizak said and addresses the group, "How about we push a good-sized boulder on the pit trap? Then after it's open, we'll know where it is safe to walk."
Feb 13, 2019 4:31 pm
"Sounds good to me." Setting his lantern down beside him, Karvir takes off his backpack and rope, then ties the rope through the shoulder straps and around the pack. "This should do!"

The steps as close as he dares to where Rizak believes the trap to be. He whirls the pack around and then hurls it out over the trap.
