Since Elias charged in, I guess we gotta roll for initiative now? Do we get a surprise round on the undead?

You are getting a surprise round now.

After that, combat will proceed in Initiative order, which I'm rolling up for convenience.

I'm aware it might be a bit too much to ask for, but is there any chance we might be using a map for combat so we can easily calculate movement, range, everyone's position etc?

Here's my best shot: a spreadsheet:

Okay cool!

Folks, turns out next week I'll only have limited internet access! But I will try my best to keep the game updated.

Thanks for the heads up! :-)

A bloody sigil hovers above the Butler, then dissipates.
Hexblade's Curse only ends early if the target dies, Elias dies, or Elias is incapacitated.

The dissipation was only for flavor! :) But I will change it.

And he would have gotten away with it too, if not for those pesky kids

Perhaps you can try mapping in Google Documents, an Excel table?

I don't know any good resources for online mapping.

A lot of guys on the site have been using Google Sheets. A little clunky, maybe, but does the job, and is easy to use and share. Should the party start making our own map or do you already have one that you can share with us (after covering unexplored areas with "fog of war" of course!)?

Haha, the MASTER MAP (C) TM is hand-drawn on paper.

Given that my descriptions are already slightly confusing, I'll try to make a map for you later

I created a Google Sheet based map maker reminiscent in style of the old school (blue) D&D maps. Feel free to make a copy of the file and play with it. It has some real limitations, but you can scratch together a map pretty quickly and you can share it with your players if you want them to map your dungeon. This is very much more of a dungeon mapper than a terrain/area or even cavern mapper.

This is the link to the Google Sheet.
Might be the best thing to come out of the discussion here, but a hand-drawn map is perfectly fine.
