Another World (Team Bestest) [ EDIT ]
This game has been retired! That means it's no longer being run.
You were living your life, going through the same motions you do every day. In your mind, you had a vague idea of a plan, a next step towards school or your career -- but you were never really interested in that next step. In your spare time, you would immerse yourself in other worlds, devour novels, and imagine what it would be like to be someone else. You were a dreamer.
Well, dream on no more. You awoke to find yourself in a grassy field with just the clothes on your back. You find a few other dazed people sitting up and in the distance, you see... goblins?
"Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."

INTENT
=========================
I admit - I've always been a fan of "another world" type of media and I'm looking to run a game that tries to replicate that. The intent isn't to create some ultra-gritty, dark game - but we can move in that direction based off of player actions.
The premise is that each PC is somebody that was magically transported into a "generic" fantasy world. I would like to kick off the game with a quick text-discussion about what you guys are looking for in a game (and also what your expectations are). No worries if you're not familiar with GURPS, I can help you out. Just give me a character concept and I can whip a character sheet for you - we can iterate on it as we go.
My goal as a GM is to create a sandbox for your characters to interact in. I'll populate it with NPC's that behave in (hopefully) realistic manners, but I'll nudge you along if things get slow. I'm not going to throw you onto a "grand quest," but there will be a number of plot lines that are available to explore. Actions will have very real consequences, both good and bad.

For character gen, I highly recommend getting the GURPS Character sheet:
http://gurpscharactersheet.com/
I like to have PC's start off as fairly high-powered, so we're going to start with 100 point buy. Your character is "some person" from modern-day earth, so any sort of magic is not allowed upon character creation. Your actions over the first few days will give you a "goodie package" of an additional 50 points for you to spend.
