OOC:
Awesome. Thank you sir. This map thing is awesome.
No problem, but I'm afraid I can't take credit for it as I shamelessly stole the idea from my pal Dextolen. :P

OOC:
I assume Kuroi has relayed Nevermore's warning to the group.
Ujjaya strains his gaze forward to discern what manner of threat it is they face.
OOC:
If it's possible I'd like to Ready an action. The trigger is hostile action by the target. The readied action is a bow attack (feats/abilities activated: Improved Precise Shot, Flurry of Blows, Deadly Aim).

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+17)

(15) + 17 = 32

Sense Motive - (1d20+12)

(14) + 12 = 26

Jun 3, 2016 10:24 pm
OOC:
Yes, Kuroi will have relayed that fact to the party, that Nevermore spotted something in the alley which posed a threat. Yes, it is possible to ready an attack. If you ready your action, however, you cannot attempt an active Perception check, nor can you attempt a Sense Motive check as it requires 1 minute of interaction with the target.
Edit: Two gore-streaked, four-footed animals burst out of the mist. They look like a cross between an overlarge rat and a wolf. Their jaws are extraordinary in size, and their eyes glitter with rabid fury. Ujjaya can take his shot on one of them, with cover), as they run towards Kayleigh's mount.

Once Ujjaya takes his readied action, it will be Weiryn's turn.
Jun 4, 2016 7:08 am
Ujjaya's eyes flash towards the charging beasts, and suddenly those eyes seem to take on a raptor-like aspect and azure feathers seem to sprout from his temples. His garuda heritage could barely be more apparent if he were to actually sprout angelic wings. In the blink of an eye he launches four arrows, sending them streaking towards the lead beast, each missile sparking blue with the magic from Ujjaya's ornate bow.
OOC:
• Ki Flurry of Blows: 4 arrows.
• Improved Precise Shot: Ignore anything less than total cover or concealment.
• Deadly Aim: -2 to hit, +4 to damage.
• Have they come within 30 feet? If so, please add +1 to all my attack and damage rolls.
• Must I really target only 1 of the beasts? If I were to take one down and still have a shot left I'd target the other one if that were allowed.

OOC:
If you have 4 arrows there, Jabes, I think you missed one. :)
Weiryn reaches for the well of arcane energy inside him as he begins to chant in an arcane language, the power entering his words seems to cause them to echo from the buildings that surround him and his party. Reaching a crescendo, he stabs his right hand forward, first two fingers extended and cries out "Incende fuego!" as a beam of energy bursts from his hand to strike the nearest wolf-creature.
OOC:
Scorching Ray. Burn baby, burn.

EDIT: I went straight to damage. Forgot my ranged touch.

I shouldn't post so early in the morning...
Last edited June 4, 2016 12:23 pm

Rolls

Scorching Ray - (4d6)

(4343) = 14

Ranged Touch (Scorching Ray) - (1d20+4)

(8) + 4 = 12

Jun 4, 2016 12:41 pm
OOC:
Do the boxes on the map represent a certain measure of distance? Trying to figure out ranges for the firearms.
Jun 4, 2016 2:26 pm
OOC:
@ Jabes: Wwhen you ready an action, you only ready a standard action, so you will only have made one attack. If you wanted to make a full attack, you should've delayed instead, which will change your initiative to be after the creatures. I have no problem letting change your readied action into a delayed action instead if that is what you want... Basically: if you readied an action you can make 1 attack before the creatures reach Kayleigh's horse and shoot at them without the -4 for close combat penalty and without Point Blank Shot since you basically readied an action to shoot a creature as soon as you saw it (though you could change to shoot it as soon as it came within 30 feet) and retain your place in the initiative (since you were already right before those creatures), and if you delay, you can make a full attack at -4 because they are now in melee with Kayleigh's mount with Point Blank Shot as they are now within 30 feet of you and your initiative will change to be right after those creatures.

Here, I'll leave this here so you can check delayed and readied actions.

@Kaos: Each squares is 5 feet.

@irvanovich: Sorry, will have to wait for Jabes to pick either delay or ready before I can process your action...
Jun 4, 2016 2:58 pm
The first creature dies, skewered by arrows from Ujjaya and pinned to the ground where it stands. The poor beast, now a bloody mess of holes and arrows. Weiryn shoots his scorching rays at the second creature and narrowly misses, the ray hitting the wet ground and extinguishing instantly.

Darren is next.
Jun 5, 2016 12:57 am
Darren moves his mount just a bit forward and attacks the beast on Kayleigh with his enchanted warhammer.
OOC:
+1 from height advantage, correct?

Rolls

Power attack! - (1d20+9, 1d8+10)

1d20+9 : (12) + 9 = 21

1d8+10 : (8) + 10 = 18

Jun 5, 2016 1:25 am
OOC:
Yes.
Darren notices a corpse which is skeletally thin in the alley. Its cadaverous eyes sizzle with cursed power as it notices Darren, and deadly spells dance on its fingertips. Darren brings his warhammer down on the rat-like creature, killing it.

The creature in the alley advances a bit to get a better look at Darren and then casts a spell, Darren must make a Will save.
OOC:
While waiting for Darren to make his save...
Suddenly, the door near you opens and you see a mindless corpse animated by necromancy to walk once more. after opening the door, it shambles towards Darren. The form in the mist turns out to be a similar corpse as it approaches towards your party. More of those walking cadaver, emerge from behind the overturned cart or from other buildings to similarly make their way towards you...

Roland is next.
Jun 5, 2016 1:40 am
OOC:
will save

Rolls

Will save - (1d20+8)

(10) + 8 = 18

Jun 5, 2016 1:55 am
Darren succeeds his Will save.
Jun 5, 2016 2:09 am
Roland fires both barrels of the double Hackbut into the zombie approaching Darren.
OOC:
using deadly shot on shot one. Target is within one range increment so attack is against touch ac. Second shot is standard.

Rolls

Attack barrel one - (1d20+8)

(13) + 8 = 21

Attack one damage - (2d12+4)

(104) + 4 = 18

Attack barrel rwo - (1d20+5)

(4) + 5 = 9

Attack two damage - (2d12)

(1010) = 20

Jun 5, 2016 2:42 am
Roand's first shot hits the zombie but does not look like it's as effective as it should. The second shot misses and ricochets of the ground, making a whizzing noises as it does. The zombie seems unaware its been hit, and is still concentrated on Darren's horse...

Kayleigh's next.
Jun 5, 2016 5:13 pm
OOC:
So, if I understood properly, each horse is supposed to take 2 squares, right ? Given that, I supposed that Kayleigh could ride till squares d12/ d13 though the marker of her horse doesn't quite fit in.
Kayleigh strengthen her grip on her axe and spurs her horse towards the nearest creature. As soon as she's within reach, she launch a single attack.

Rolls

Attack roll - (1d20+11)

(17) + 11 = 28

Dammage roll (Vital strike) - (2d12+5)

(610) + 5 = 21

Jun 5, 2016 5:42 pm
OOC:
You can move through an ally's space, but you cannot end your movement in a square occupied by an ally. So you could move to e-g 10-11. Depending on how you move, you could provoke an attack of opportunity from the zombie in d11...
Jun 5, 2016 9:25 pm
OOC:
Okay, I'll move to squares f-g 10-11, then.
Jun 5, 2016 9:48 pm
Kayleigh strikes the zombie in front of her, slashing a great gash on the creature... Who is still standing and looks up at the her...

Second round of combat!

Initiative order:
20 Kuroi
15 Ujjaya
15 Weiryn
10 Darren
9 Magic Zombie??
9 Zombies
8 Roland
5 Kayleigh

Combat map

Conditional modifiers:
Mounted Combat.
Mist is ever present in the streets and limits vision. Beyond 30 feet, creatures have concealment (20% miss chance).
Overturned Cart: Provides cover (+4 AC, +2 Ref) to those taking shelter behind it.
Jun 5, 2016 10:32 pm
Kuroi will make a many shot on the closest zombie.

With two arrows, Kuroi downs the zombie next to Darren, the third arrow narrowly missing it...

Edit: no my mistake, the zombie still stand, despite the fact that the arrows should have been a kill shot... strange indeed...

Ujjaya is up next.

(18) + 14 = 32

Secret Roll

Jun 7, 2016 4:21 pm
Ujjaya urges Ashva forward, guiding the faithful horse with his knees. More arrows, glowing with magic, streak towards undead as the monk targets the abominations one after the other. "Suffer no false life!" the monk chants.
OOC:
• After moving forward 5ft I believe two of those targets are in Point Blank range. Those are the first targets. +1 to attack & damage against those please.
• Ki Flurry of Blows: 4 arrows full-attack.
• Precise Shot: shoot into melee w/o penalty.
• Improved Precise Shot: Ignore anything less than total cover or concealment.
• Deadly Aim: -2 to hit, +4 to damage.
• Used the incorrect attack bonus for arrow #4 (sorry!) but didn't matter as it came up a nat 20.
