Okay, i apologize for the outburst, my search has taken me on on some snooty discords, so my cynicism it high, and in a modern world of abundant passive aggressiveness its impossible to tell anymore. but you clarified, so i appreciate that and apologize.
Republic/Imperial faction play will be a more rigid structure, preset squads. Specialist group units are added to your roster of troops to command as a progression system. Your main is the platoon commander, team/party are the Sgts, and the squads are more the build to your sgts capabilities, instead of each induvidual troop having an action. you roll to see if the squad as a whole is successful. This mode ignores the squad point/cost aspect.
Rebels is meant to be more intimate with the party build. you play as the squad leader, assign individually who you want in the party. the point system helps me separate which units become available later, and which are good for starters, so again not strictly working off it, but letting it guide me on building/managing the difficulty/story for the player.
separatists can kinda go either way.
as for the stat blocks they will be applied. but i may make adjustments in order to balance. ie: the boss battle enemy cost far more than your squad, i may then nerf its original defense or attack to make it more fair.
and yes play is intended to include visual reference to the battle and layout of the field
ill check out the Fly Battle, thank you.
