Ygne falls upon the remaining animated corpse like a dark shadow, prying them apart at their weakest points. Rapier and One-Eye go limp and they fall to the platform in a heap of gore.

Frick levels a few more good hits against his foe, but if this horror felt any pain from these grievous wounds, it did not show it. It looms closer now, towering above Frick, tentacle vines circling from either side in the filthy water.

Moss's quick thinking and deft maneuvers are successful; Elspa wakens with a start.
OOC:
Jarveena and Elspa are left in the initiative order for round 2. There is just:

1. Two-Tails (AC: 14, HP: 27/45, reckless) on platform
2. Shambling Mound (AC: 15, HP: 92/136) in water
Mar 29, 2017 4:44 pm
Elspa gasps at the stinging sensations felt at her side and on her cheek. Reflexively, she grabs her axe to swing at the offender. At the last moment, when it looks like her furious eyes have settled on Moss, she rolls to hack at the legs of Two-Tails. Elspa rises to one knee after her first swing, and with a roar brings her blade around in an overhead chop.

Quote:
Two-Tails scrambles up the platform and runs at Jarveena, savagely mauling her (18 damage).
Jarveena cries out as the two-tailed one's claws tear into her flesh. With a primal scream she brings up her bow and plugs the trog with an arrow point blank. Taking great lungfuls of air she gathers her strength and nocks another arrow.

Elspa launches the last troglodyte off the platform along with a heap of heavy crates, sending them into the path of the Shambling Mound. The troglodyte smashes to pieces as the crates cascade into the shambling mound, knocking it off balance.

Moss's arrow gets lost in the debris from the platform, while Frick stubbornly beats on the monster's backside. The confused monster struggles to turn toward Frick to finish him off, then topples as Rygnar runs into him, landing with an enormous splash. He drives home his greatsword into the monstrosity for good measure.
OOC:

Ygne pulls her shortsword free from the corpse of the rapier Trog, emitting a sound of scraping as it drags across bone. After submerging herself in the bloody water, Ygne has crimson rivulets dripping down her face and over the grimace of her mouth. Breathing deeply, she turns once more toward the Mound and charges down the pile toward it. She turns her blades backward in her hands, holding them in a reverse grip before driving them both simultaneously into the mound.

RYTE

Ryte opened his eyes. He could feel the throbbing black cord almost immediately, pumping corruption and power into his body. An incredible hunger drove him to his feet. He picked up the two rapiers he had wielded in life and stalked silently down the tunnel toward the waterfall.

He turned the corner, and saw the battle raging in the cavern beyond. His former comrades gathered around a great monstrosity, hacking and slashing at it as it pummelled them with tumored tentacles. He could see the monstrosity's own black cord too, trailing off in the same direction as his own.

He observed their tactics, their tricks, their movements, all the while gripping his swords tightly. He had never felt stronger, and he knew at once he could take them all. He ached so badly to extinguish their lives. But, that was not to be, for this night he felt the silent summons that called him to the source of his black cord. He took one last look at the battle before departing.

"Tuin man lende, tir nia ammen" he spat, his voice cracking.

Those who leave, watch over us.

The shambling mound rises from the water, water and filth pouring out of its many, many wounds. It refuses to die, and knocks Jarveena's arrow out of the air with a lashing vine. The undead shambling mound splits in half as Elspa drives her mighty axe through its massive body.
OOC:
Zombies can't reanimate if they're crit! Encounter over :)
Mar 31, 2017 1:16 am
With the immediate threat gone, Rygnar's vision clears as he turns to Elspa, and a relieved smile dons his lips. Unsure if the other humans are threats or not, he opts to keep his sword out, proudly coated in the gore of his previous victims. He reaches out and embraces Elspa in a one arm hug; probably much to her surprise, she could of sworn she saw tears in his eyes.
