The Omon Treasure Horde [ EDIT ]
This game has been retired! That means it's no longer being run.
You work for a dragonborn by the name of Tsira Omon.
The Oman clan was a formerly powerful family from the capital city of Genera. Tsira was the Minister of Coin, while her husband Tarhun, was the Minister of Foreign Affairs. However, due to frequent raids attributed to other dragonborn clans in the area, the Omon family was despised. When anti-dragoborn politicians gained enough power, the Omon family was forcibly split apart.
The family was stripped of power by being forced into religious positions (no marriage), low ranking court positions (like waste disposal), or mandatory military positions (in the hopes that they die). Her husband was sent as a permanent ambassador to the small, distant country of Pilleia (a country whose main exports are quilts).
For her punishment, Tsira was sent to the lands of Kamatayan, a desolate stretch of desert and ruin, in order to 'establish a foothold for the empire' with little more than a small keep and some gold. The keep was dubbed 'The Omon Treasure Horde' as both an insult to race and her former position at the court.
Messages take months to get to the capital, and learning about the going-ons of the outside world is slow. Fresh supplies and troops are shipped from the capital every month, but almost everyone is aware the the keeps stands little chance of surviving.
Kamatayan is an entirely un-mapped area, and only few locations are even known. Monsters prowl under the surface of the sand, in the ruins of a long lost civilization, and the sparse pockets of forest. The wilderness is dark, and full of terrors.
You work for Tsira Omon. You might work because of your loyalty to the empire, or the once powerful Omon clan. You might have volunteered to come due to you thirst for adventure or gold. Or you might be a native to Kamatayan, and Lady Tsira was your best chance to survive.

The goal is to just have some casual, fun adventures. No long term commitment required.
Games will be one-shot missions, with a good amount of game-time between each one. Each session will have a max of 4 players.
Create your characters at level 3, using all the default 5E rules. If you want to do something homebrew or special just shoot me a PM and we can work something out.
All characters will be already employed by the main NPC - Tsira Omon. Your characters must have a good professional relationship with Tsira and the other players. You don't have to be friends with each other, but essentially you will all be allies.
Figure out how you started working for her, how you feel about the Genera Empire, and what skills have allowed you to survive in the Kamatayan desert!
