The Quoya Desert
The Quoya Desert is a large arid region found between the Hordelands and Shou Lung.
The Quoya is bordered on its eastern edge by the fabled Dragonwall, effectively separating it from Shou Lung. In the west the vast Plain of Horses and nation of Yaïmmunahar stretches for as far as the eye can see. Mountains pen the desert from both the north and south, with the Chigidi Range of the Koryaz Mountains framing the desert from the north, while the northern arm of the impressive Katakoro Shan covering the desert's southern edge.
The Quoya is a cold, arid place. Despite this fact, enough water from small streams flow through the desert into the Merket Depression to sustain the growth of the famous Kwachow melons.
The Dragonwall
The Dragonwall is a giant wall located on the eastern edge of the Quoya Desert along the border with Shou Lung in Kara-Tur.
Thousands of miles long, the wall was built with brick and stone. The spirit of the dragon Pao Hu Jen is said to inhabit the wall.
The Bitter Well Oasis
The Bitter Well Oasis is a small resting stop located in the southern regions of the Quoya Desert.
Set on a plateau, this is a very small oasis. There are only about three buildings located at the site. The water drawn from the well tastes bitter and salty, hence its name, but it is water, something most of this arid region lacks.
There is one permanent resident here — the Shou, Ma Chung-Ying.
He runs a small inn in one of the buildings in the Oasis. Oftentimes the Shou government provide him with supplies and money in return for information on passengers moving through the region.
