Character sheet formatting

Hello,

I apologize if this has been posted before; I haven’t seen any thread addressing this specific issue.

With character sheets, I notice that when I try to bold, italicize, or underline something, about half the time it doesn’t save. The formatting will save for parts of the character sheet, but not others.

However, sometimes if I change the word, or add a line break, the formatting for that word suddenly saves correctly. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Hey, Baldwin!

While I'm not sure what causes this, I find that actually typing the code makes the formatting work.

I've had this happen to me from time to time as well. The best advice I can give you is 1) try to avoid special types as much as possible, if you can. And 2) try again until it does save.

Typing out the code seems to have worked. Thank you!

Can someone explain this bug more in depth? I don't really understand.

I'll try!

Let's say I want to create a character. I go into the Characters tab, and create a new character using a custom system. Normally, the GM will have provided some kind of template to fill, or I'll be passing the sheet contents to text. Thing is, plain text is not necessarily visually appealing to the eye, so I go ahead, for example, and decide to bold everything that's supposed to be filled. i.e:

Name:
Age:
Personality:

Then, of course, I'll proceed to actually fill the required information. For example:

Name: Lux the Bright
Age: 204
Personality: Lux is bla bla bla.

Let's say I save the info I have available, right? So I check on how it looks and then I notice that nothing that I bolded is actually bolded. I try to edit and it's like I never actually bolded the selected words, so I have to select and bold everything again. In my experience, it tends to happen with words that are below(er) in the text. And it's not only bolding either: Italics, colors, any formatting seems to be potentially bugged. And I don't think it happens randomly: When it doesn't work, it really doesn't work unless you play around with the formatting of the text. Sometimes skipping a line helps, for example. Bolding or using italics in the middle of text(like your character's background) rarely works.

For some reason, actually typing out the codes seems to work. So, instead of selecting the words that I want to bold and then clicking on that option, I'll manually type the code([ b ]word[ / b ], without the spaces). That always seems to work.

This happens to me a lot with the custom sheets. Inserting an image is particularly difficult; requires several saves before it takes. Good to know that manually typing in the code (as opposed to using the toolbar) is a viable solution.

Can I get some clarification on this. When you're bolding content, you're highlighting it and hitting the 'B' in the top bar?

Yep, essentially. The issue is not just with bolding, though: It's like the save option for the character sheet either forget to include the code added through the toolbar(Like clicking the ''B'' after selecting whatever I wish to bold, just like yo said), or what the toolbar actually includes is never actually included. Really weird.

Yah, it's baffling. The same code that runs the forums runs the custom sheet. I'll try to see what's going on.
