IC Text Considerations

Trail of Cthulu is about the long, slow climbing dread and the creeping demise into insanity. It's not guns blazing pulp fiction. That means that the more exposition and the more inner thoughts we get to hear, the more fun it will be. To keep all this clear though, please try to use the following:

"This is actual speech."
This is descriptive text or prose.
This is an inner monologue.

All these can be colored if you like, and I'm not going to police this, so if you forget, that's perfectly okay, but it WILL make it easier to parse, and if there's a question about whether something was ACTUALLY said, or just thought, the format will be the decider unless it's blindingly obvious.

I can see in a game like this that inner monologue would provide the game with much greater flavor. The way I learned rpg was that you only should type what the people around you could see and hear. Anything else should be posted only to the GM. I'm of two minds for what you propose. Posting inner monologue is much more fun for everyone but, for me personally, it's difficult for me to maintain focus on lengthy posts especially when people include excerpts of previous other posts. It's primarily my poor eyesight and my age that gets in the way. In general, what concerns me is that others could post responses based solely on another player's inner monologue which really spoils the game for me.

This would be my first game on here, but I would be honorable to talk everyday. I will try the colored quotes not sure. Hope I will figure it out :)

The inner monologue is NOT mandatory. But I know that in these types of games, some like to do it. The suggestions above is for those that want to do it, so that we can easily distinguish between what we should know and what is just flavor.
