Chapter 1 Interlude: Post Crystal Meditation

After Master Selak releases them to their own devices, presumably to meditate on their visions, the students are free to mingle amongst themselves for the first time since breakfast. Their 'common area' aboard the shuttle is full of pieces of memorabilia of their time together. Successes and failures sit side by side, a holo of an impressive duel between Alyx and Zafe next to Ian's failed attempt at converting a paint gun into a paint sniper rifle; a interesting horn from a completely unknown animal that Zepharo found out in the rainforest is next to the spot on the wall where Kit's obviously mutation fueled growth is marked. Memories great and small surround them.

Ian is, of course the first to speak up, "Sooo . . . Show of hands. Who is now a Sith warrior? Anybody? Evelynn? Pi? Definitely Evie." He turns his wide, teasing grin towards Alyx, the tiny Zabrak, "I think black leather would be'a good look fer you."

Taryn seems very affected by whatever he saw. His light hair is a bit matted with sweat and his face is still white as a sheet.
He grabs a bottle of water, plops down on the closest thing they could find to a comfortable couch on the shuttle, and sighs loudly.

Closing his eyes, he rubs his temples, "I don't know about Sith, but did anybody else find touching that crystal just really... painful?"

Wincing, Ian can't help but laugh himself even as he cringes slightly. "Wow. D'you even -need- a lightsaber? That cut deep." He shakes his head, sending his long hair swaying as he shrugs helplessly. "I will gladly take one'a yours, Evie, if'n yer passin' out spares." He chuckles quietly, grinning even broader as he glances furtively at the others.

Distracted from himself, Ian looks over to Taryn, "Uh, no? That's . . . No? Dude, seriously? What the hell?" Face scrunched up in confusion, Ian scratches the side of his head.

Looking annoyed in the way that some might have learned means she's concerned but hiding it, Alyx sighs and goes to stand up and walk over to where Ian is leaning against the wall. "You didn't get a vision of a lightsaber crystal?" she asks him calmly, mimicking whatever body language he is showing, such as crossing the arms.

Scratching his head with a sigh, Ian glances over at Alyx with an frustrated scowl. "Nooo," he mutters irritably to the Zabrak girl. "Well, yes. Sort of." He looks about to go on when Evelynn speaks. A blank, almost confused expression crawls over his face before he sighs with exasperation. "Evie . . . Just no, okay? If that were true then Master Selak wouldn' have ten thousand stories 'bout people he used ta know that -all- end with 'an then they died too'." He gives her a steely look, indigo eyes focused where hers would be if she were human. His gaze isn't angry just intense, a rare expression from the normally gregarious young man.

Rolling her eyes, Alyx leans further back against the wall, looking concerned but still tranquil. "Let's just be frank. The Force doesn't give us more than we can handle, but that doesn't mean never dying. It's the way of the Force for life to begin and end in a never-ending cycle. So if you had a vision about dying, well - everybody dies."

She glances over at Ian's worried eyes and her expression softens a bit. "But it doesn't make it an absolute reality. You received a warning. Understand yourself and your enemy, and you will always succeed." She looks over at Eveyln. "Thanks, Evie. He's just being stubborn, but he appreciates your support." She goes to kick Ian's ankle. "Don't you!"

Avi sighs to herself after Master Selak lets everyone go, disappearing to her own chambers with a wary expression for a quick moment until she has returned, seemingly much more relaxed.

While it is clear that she is about to head to somewhere else, the purple twi'lek immediately stops when she realizes what the subject of the discussion is, having caught Evelynn speaking. Her curious stare soon turns into a frown, unconsciously crossing her arms and letting her hip softly sway to the left.

" So... What? Ian isn't even allowed to feel insecure anymore?" While Avi's tone is more playful than conflictive, she's still trying to make the implication sting. "Hah. With a family like ours, who needs the Dark Side, right guys?" She chuckles, lightly, as her frown dissolves into a hopeless smile. It doesn't take long for her to shake her head, rapidly squinting her eyes at Evelynn. "Oh well, I'm sure he's okay with it. Not like anyone expects our dear Evelynn to have any tact when it comes to the Force." She offers everyone a small smile, though it's more taunting than anything else.

Alyx smiles broadly when Avi comes in. "Avi! You need to help me cheer up these gloomy Gungans! I haven't seen so much doom and gloom since we found those baby butter-cats with injured wings." Just having Avi around always made Alyx's normally solemn visage light up: it was like she actually was a teenager instead of a stoic adult in a child's body.

"Ow! My fragile, human ankle!" Ian winces and lifts it up to rub it. While he's doing so he watches Avi come in and start taunting Evelynn. With an exasperated sigh and over-exaggerated slump he calls out, "Ladies, please, no more sexy race wars 'bout me. There is 'nough'a me ta go around whether you have eyes, hair or both!"

He snickers at Alyx, "Gloomy Gungans? Hold on, I think I need ta change my ringtone fer yer comm." He takes out his comm and starts tapping at the tiny controls, holding it up to the Zabrak, "Okay, one more time."

"Yeah, my thoughts exactly. What the hell..."
He sits up and explains. "I could feel all these nice and warm crystals, but the one that called out to me was cold and harsh, like it was in pain or something... I defintely got a sense of suffering from it."

Looking towards Evelynn, he says "I could go for one of those purple fungus burgers, if there are any left."

Zepharo shoots a glare - or perhaps something halfway between a shocked glance, and a glare - at Ian as he jokes about being Sith. He watches the confrontation develop uncomfortably.
