Equipment

So, I'm still a little at a loss for equipment. Rather than make a call and go with it I think we should have some discussion about the sort of equipment you might have access to.

Food: sure
Blaster Rifle: I think that's ok.
Climbing gear: You would probably have made some kind of rope or something during your last twelve years but probay no pitons or anything like that. Do you think that climbing gear would be standard equipment on a transport shuttle?
Breather: I can't see how you would have gotten one of those. Your thoughts?

Eleven sets of basic survival gear (including climbing gear and rebreathers) is the least of what Selak would have packed before coming to this planet, if he put any kind of forethought at all into raising 10 kids on a wilderness planet.

We're in a natural cave system. I'd imagine we sometimes need climbing gear just to get around our living area.

Like Carabas said, I can see Master Selak having enough forethought, especially since he'd been to the planet and knew a little about it before returning with us, to get stuff like that. Most of those items aren't especially rare, hell the prequels made it seem like most Jedi carry rebreathers on their belts just in case.

I guess, in the end, it comes down to how much preparation did Selak put into things ahead of time, or did he literally just jump on board the first transport ship he found carrying Younglings and boost off into the unknown? If he had some prep time, I can see him getting at least few sets of some basic survival gear, things like thermal cloaks, climbing gear, breath masks/respirators, all sort of make sense when you're going out into the the wilds and especially into a cave environment.

Ok. If we are ok with that, then I am ok with that. As i imagined the scenario, he definitely had a little time to prepare and he had visited the planet before. But ge didn't have decades of planning or anything. Maybe a week or so max.

I'd say maybe then that we have access to all gear (1 set for each of us, or less if you feel) that's rarity 3 or 4 and below and under 100 credits, or something? Basically he was able to get several sets of cheap, easily available gear that he thought we'd need (limited to tools and survival gear maybe?) before he snatched the transport...

Or hell, just say any Rarity 2 or lower equipment less than 200 credits. That basically would be all the tools except Tool Kit, all the Survival gear excluding Wilderness Survival Kits, nothing from Security, Emergency Medpac and Stimpacks for Medical, Macrobinoculars and Hand Scanners, no Cybernetics, no drugs, and Comlinks (handheld and longrange).

Those are from the basic F&D book, there might be other things in the various splatbooks, but I don't think it would include stuff too much crazier than what I've listed.

I like it. Lets go with 200 credits each and nothing rarer than rarity 2.

Thanks for the chance for extra equipment. Unfortunately, what Ian is looking for is highly unlikely to be something Master Selak would have packed so I'm going to opt for something more realistic and immediately useful. Are the blasters mentioned before available or are we being instructed, like Luke was, to leave them at home? They're out of the price range and rarity range you selected, which is fine, but Ian would -bend- the rules if they exist and try to bury/hide as many as he could outside their home and where they could get a hold of them on the way back in if something went wrong. He is in full paranoia mode. If you say it's possible, let me know any rolls and I'll edit my post on the main thread.

You were instructed to take any provisions that you require. Take that as you like. How about this, as you wish to steal the blasters, why don't you make a stealh or skullduggery roll. I'll allow you to hide one blaster rifle per success. I'll let you decide what happens if you fail. As for difficulty, shall we say difficulty 4?

Ian would be able to hide two blaster rifles but probably everyone else can see him doing it, even if Master Selak isn't aware (2 threat). Do you want more detail in the main thread?

Rolls

Skulduggery

3 Success, 1 Advantage, 1 Failure, 3 Threat

Total: 2 Success, 2 Threat

So the threat is that the others notice him stealing the blasters? Yeah that works for me but I think that should cause you a point of strain too. I'll add an additional threat that while you managed to hide the blasters, you didn't have a lot of time, so you were forced to hide them quite roughly, not as well as you would have liked.
