The first age - The first age of Anchorhead was a time ruled by chaos. With each race living in small, scattered villages forming small unique bands or tribes. During this time the three races can be found fighting with their own kin as they begin to establish groups of power and influence. Each race struggles to acquire power and with it more following. The Elves are the first to settle the vast grasslands and prairies, quickly adapting to a nomadic hunter gatherer like social structure. The Dwarves are the first to settle the rolling highlands and hills next to the mountains. Having developed a knack for surviving in the harsh environments that they offer. While the Humans settle anywhere they can manage, being the most proliferate and quickly adapting race. Each settlement founded is ruled by the strongest member, some groups value strength while others value knowledge and wisdom. Creating villages with numerous different cultures within a single race. This went on for nearly five centuries until 15.7.498.1 (the 15th day, of the 7th month, of the 498th year, of the 1st age) when the world took on its first drastic change. The first large settlement was created by combining three different tribes of humans. Over the next twenty years the enclave cuts out a large area which it then protects, creating the first kingdom ever known. The dwarves would follow suit in 7.9.650.1, and the elves on 27.11.749.1 These large settlements marked the coming end of the first age. With the creation of the kingdoms of old the need to fight among their own quickly faded.

The second age - As the first age came to an end, the three races eventually banded together and formed an alliance. A mutual agreement was made between the different races to not interfere/instigate with the affairs of the others. This allowed the surface race to pursue a life of peace and prosperity as there was plenty of unexplored lands for all. The 'New Dawn' treaty was written by the Elf lord T. Allustair and then signed by the Human king Valinre Ahdara, and the Dwarven king Rumdor Goldspire. This treaty created a lasting friendship among the sufrace races and with time created the opportunity for the exchange of culture and people. During the early years of the 'blending' a strange event occurred. Through this program of culture/social exchange chance relationships were developed and lead to something which none of the races considered seriously. Through the mixing of Elf and Dwarf genetics with humans, the half-breeds were created. Initially met with scorn and resentment for being monsters/abominations and many other choice words, the half-breeds would prove the value of their shared genetics. Nearly a century later after the mixing event another similar situation happened. This time it would be the half-breeds and humans that would create two more races. The races of littlefolk, the Halflings and Gnomes. As the world became more civilized and advanced a race of immortals introduced themselves to the surface races. This golden age of peace among the surface races lasted for nearly six hundred years when on the night of 30.9.890.2 the balance of power shifted. What would become known as the longest war in history, the 'Sin War' would erupt and last for over one hundred years before being put down. A great demon general lead the incursion into the mortal realm, where he and his army would enact terrible deeds and suffering upon the people of Pretaeus. On 30.9.1000.2 the infernal army was stopped by a group of warriors made up of the many surface races. As quickly as they had appeared and put a stop to the war, they vanished. Many assumed they died in battle with the demon general, who ultimately condemned their souls to hell in his dying breath. However, few honestly cared because the oppressive war and rule had been ended. The entire surface world celebrated and mourned and took the hard road to recovery.

The third age - The dawn of the third age has come and gone, and for one hundred and fifty-eight years the world has been stuck in the process of recovery and growth. Blanketed in an awkward silence. The age of terror for some, is nothing more than a memory while others relive the pain and fear. Letting it serve as a reminder and grim warning of what complacency can do. The current date is 27.5.158.3 and much of the northern and southern continents of Pretaeus are still barren or recovering. New kingdoms and noble houses have climbed out from the ashes of the old world. While a few beacons of old shine on the horizon. Many of the old alliances and friendships are now broken and neglected as each race blames the other for the Sin War. Most of the surface races have scattered from the original lands, seeking new homes and bonds of friendship. Little has changed for the Humans, but the same cannot be said for the rest of the races. The Dwarves have fled the surface world, climbing high in the mountains where they dig their new homes deep in the rock. The Elves now call the few remaining woods and forests their home. The races of little-folk have been divided with the Gnomes favoring the Dwarves and their lifestyle, and the Halflings staying with their human cousins. Neither of the three major races overly trust one another thanks to the many rumors about the cause of the Sin War. The race of immortals has long since disappeared, some see this as an omen others are just thankful. A long welcomed lull hangs over the world. The now many surface races grow stronger with each passing day, rebuilding their cities and families. Waiting for the sounds of war to be heard again.
