Since we have spellcasters, I'm thinking we'll need a long rest. If it's possible for Bughu to complete a short rest while the others begin their long rest, he can be close to full-up to handle watch duties.

I'll roll Second Wind right now, and once a short rest is completed I'll roll HD recovery.

As you rest in the clearing, after about an hour you hear the sound of approaching footsteps. Through the trees, you can see two hulking trolls headed in your direction. It's unclear if they've taken notice of you or not. What do you do?

"Trolls," Bughu repeats. "Damn them, this won't be good." He readies his longbow, and looks around for an escape route, or somewhere defensible.

Slowly drawing her sword from her scabbard Leema takes up a position just behind Beghu and motions for the others to get behind her.

"Hopefully it will pass by without bothering us." she suggests, not really believing that's how things will play out. Quickly catching on what Bughu is looking for, she does the same.

Leema could really use a long rest, she's about empty on spell slots.

Looking about, you do spot a small grouping of trees you could hide behind. Assuming that the trolls haven't already seen you, it would be a good place to hide.

You manage to hide behind the trees until the trolls pass by and they don't seem to notice your footprints in the soft snow.

Bughu watches the passing trolls until they are out of sight. "I wasn't going to suggest a fire," he says quietly in reference to a camp, "but now I think that might be a good idea."
