Allison Creed (Sabhaal)

OOC:
Here is the concept for my character.
Allison Creed was a dutiful student and a wonderful daughter. Had she known that her graduation road trip with her girlfriends would end the way it would, she never would have gone (and she would have begged her friends not go as well). But no one can see the future, and the worst can happen to the best of people. After running out of fuel in the Middle-of-Nowhere Washington, she and her friends were picked up by a supposed Good Samaritan in his pick-up. The man had other intentions. Overpowering the girls, he knocked them out cold, and brought them deep into the woods. The girls were brought, bound and gagged, by the man to a group of his masked associates. Seems he had some sort of deal with the freaks, as she could here a clinking of coins in exchange for them, like it were some sort of movie, and the thug was handed a sack of gold for doing the deed.

A new Allison Creed walked out of those woods. Her body scarred and filthy from her trials. Her soul resting peacefully wherever souls go. Within her new body resided an ancient and powerful force. Sabhaal. A great fiend from the dark abyss. His rage, however, was quelled by a night of bloodshed and a new perspective found in the memories left behind by Allison. Confused, Sabhaal wandered into the nearest town, Bellingham. In torn and bloody jeans, and draping the bloody coat of one of her assailants over her ruined shirt, she found herself in the police station. She didn't hear a word the police asked her. They chalked it up to shock and she was admitted to the hospital for her wounds.
No connection had yet been made between Allison and the four girls who went missing recently.

Great origin I think, just a couple questions that might come up. What "graduation" trip were the girls on? College or high school? Seems like a high school graduate would have been reported missing after five days of no contact if her parents are around at all. College I could see it not being an issue yet. Really all depends on the parental relationship. Also will probably impact how the police treat her once her identity and the other are reported missing.

Or maybe she could make up an identity and claim the kidnappers took her ID.

Allison was a pre-law student. So it was a college trip. She also doesn't really look much like herself anymore. From being pretty ragged from her ordeal to a change in both her demeanor and the color of her eyes, she wouldn't strike anyone as the same girl right of the bat. They would need a picture and a good eye for detail to put them together.

I imagine her parents are already sure something has happened and have tried contacting her. They have already contacted the police, but they covered a lot of ground on their road trip, and are not sure where something would have happened. That being said, the guy that took them is no amateur. He likely hid their car somewhere off of the road so that it was less likely for them to be found, and he drove them deep into the woods, so unless they find the car, its near impossible they'll find the bodies.
Her parents live in Southern California, and her trip was basically, drive up the coastline and see what we see. They planned on driving up to Washington state, staying around for a bit, and then driving back. She lost her phone, her cards, and her id during the ordeal, and Sabhaal has no intention of contacting anyone from her past life.
I think it would be an interesting story arc if an investigator or some group got a tip that she might be in town, and so she has to start dodging them and possibly the feds, or convince them that she is not Allison Creed (even though Sabhaal has likely been using that name for the sake of convenience).

I guess I should probably include some details of Sabhaal's life as well. So here goes.
Sabhaal began his existence as a high ranking member of the Neberu, the Angels that maintained the works of god. More specifically, Sabhaal was of the Ninsun, the great angels of time and order. Together with his brothers and sisters, they set the planets and stars in motions, creating the concepts of time, gravity, law, physics. Their domain was abstraction and concepts of thought. Thus, they remained distant from humanity during their time in Eden. Ahrimal, one of Sabhaal's friends, foresaw a great catastrophe that would befall humanity, and brought it before a selected council of the Seven Houses of the Heavenly Host. The right hand of god, the Morningstar himself, heard this warning, and wished to do his all to protect humanity. So they chose to reveal their presence to Adam and Eve. This began a great war between those loyal to the Host, and those who's love for humanity and freedom was too great to stand idly by.
Sabhaal was a distant star in the cosmos. He cared little for humanity, as they were mere specks in the cosmic order, but this war was a great upheaval of the divine plan. Sabhaal's curiosity and lust for knowledge outside the destined order led him to join the rebellion. He lifted high for his power and tactical brilliance. He joined the Iron Legion. A bulwark against attacks from the heavenly host, and his vision and power over time made him invaluable to Archduke Dagon. For years, the silent war waged, a test of will and power against the heavenly host. The Iron Legion stood valiantly against all attacks, always prepared for the next attack. That was, until the time of Caine.
Something changed after the first murder. A bloodlust had overtaken some of the fallen, and the holy city of Sagun was destroyed in a display of violence the world had never known, and would never be able to recreate. In this battle, the first of the Angels were truly slain, never to be known again by creation. Sabhaal was not spared this bloodlust. His tactics took a more offensive turn, and his soldiers of the Iron Legion slew many who came against them. The Angel of Order became a paragon of war, using his sight and his intellect to develop new strategies to wage war against the Host. He became the Dreadlord, who experimented on his divine and mortal soldiers to make them stronger, faster, more deadly. Nothing was beyond his reach, and none could stand against his legion's might. Or so he thought.
Eventually, the war came to an end. Michael, the new right hand of god, brought the rebellion to its knees and forced us into our imprisonment into the Abyss. A great chasm of darkness and isolation. A place of personal torment. Those who craved companionship were treated to abandonment. Those who craved silence were treated with an endless cacophony of mindless noise. In the depths of Hell, even the most valiant and true-hearted of the fallen became monsters. Sabhaal was no different.
After eons of torment, an opportunity presented itself, and Sabhaal forced himself free of his Abyssal shackles, into the great maelstrom the surrounded their prison. He found his way to the mortal realm, following the sounds of chanting and screaming. Then he found her.
Broken. Defiled. Bleeding. Humanity had grown barbaric in their absence. Men danced and chanted around her wearing masks decorated in a mockery of his brothers' demonic visages. The girl lay in their center, tears flowing silently down her face as the blood ran down her skin. In her, he sensed a spark. He could not survive in this mortal world in his current state, and it was plain that she would not last much longer either. He called out to her. Offering her what peace he could.
The rest is history.

Ok, I have a few questions, can you tell us something about Sadhaal. I take it this is a possessing spirit? Is this the first time is has been on the mortal plane? Who is it really? Was it once mortal?

I also wonder about Allison? If it remembers her life, then why would it stay in Bellingham? Is it trapped there? Four girls murdered in a ritual is big news, and when she was found and identified, FBI would be called in. They would want her in therapy and all manner of things, how is she avoiding this? How is she getting money?

What are the goals of this spirit, why is it still here? What motivates it, beyond inflicting pain and suffering?

Sabhaal is a demon, or more technically speaking, a fallen angel. As he was once of the house of Neberu, he would be classified as a Fiend. Fiends are manipulators of time, space, and light. In his current state, Sabhaal is severely weakened and cannot manipulate these forces as he once could, though he is still a capable Seer and can manipulate mortal portals (such as windows and doors).
Sabhaal has not seen the mortal plane since it was known as Eden, and it has changed drastically in the eons since he was imprisoned.
Sabhaal's goal is two-fold, to regain lost power so that he may build a new empire where he rules, and to keep himself out of Hell (he will always make sure the second goal is going well before working on the first). It is here because this backwards mortal plane is far better than the Abyss.

As for Allison. She has not currently been identified. She wandered for days before making her way to Bellingham, Sabhaal leading her there because he could sense the amount of power/potential in the town. She was sort of a Jane Doe when the police found her and brought her to the hospital. No one but her (and maybe some of the shadow organizations around town) knows about the incident in the woods. It is likely that Allison was forced to go through some therapy, but it was concluded (with the help of Sabhaal's silver tongue) that she could not remember who she was or what had happened to her. She is probably staying in some sort of homeless shelter or perhaps a kind-hearted police officer offered her a place to stay. She currently makes no money, and is a bit of an oddity in the city, as her story is likely all over the local news (or was for a time).

Would you say Allison was reaped or she made a pact?
Apr 5, 2019 3:31 pm
Allison has been fulled possessed. Some lingering faith was kept as Sabhaal inhabited her body, but the real Allison has passed on. What remains is just memories of her life that Sabhaal is using to act the part. Sabhaal would be looking to make a pact with someone to gain a steady influx of faith, but he is also patient and doesn't want to show all of his cards just yet.

Well..it will be interesting to see how a Changeling interacts with a Demon. On the one hand, the True Fae are a bit like demons from myth and legend, but in the World of Darkness, where the Fallen are mostly trapped and tortured in the Abyss they have a lot in common with the Lost...

And from the Demon perspective...Angels who did not fall have a lot in common with the Gentry...being able to manipulate reality and control their own realms. Perhaps...the Angels and the Gentry are related? In the lore of Demons, God is not around...perhaps some of the Angels forgot who they used to be and became Gentry.

Just a thought.

I've been trying to wrap my head around how to incorporate the DtF lore into the others. I think that you make a good point. The Fae techinically live in one of the Supernal realms in the Mage lore. Arcadia is the land of the Fate and Time arcana, making the Fae ageless and powerful. It is entirely possible that the remaining angels of the Heavenly host live within the Supernal realms. After the Exarchs entered the realm, the realms became twisted and distant from the mortal realm. Perhaps this is when God left, he lost hope in humanity and abandoned it. After a time, the remaining angels became twisted, those in Arcadia becoming the Gentry.
In the Mage lore, the Abyss separates the supernal realms from the mortal realm, and it was 'created' when the Exarchs entered the Realms. It could be the the Abyss simply opened during this time, allowing the first of the fallen to escape (this would be around the time of Atlantis, still during the age of legends but long after the Fall of the angels).

Yeah...good stuff there. Maybe deeper than we need for the game but it is a really good connection.
Apr 6, 2019 12:59 pm
Thanks. Thank White Wolf. They put a lot of thought into how their games might connect (or they just decided to reuse a lot of parts)
Apr 6, 2019 5:57 pm
The interesting thing about White Wolf is they do mention a lot of lore, but they also say all of that could be a lie. Sometimes they hint that the lore they have is not the truth in complete and whole. It leave wiggle room for the Storyteller to inject thier own lore and to make the lore fit the players and other stories at the table.

Ok, so just a few more questions. You said the demons goal was to rule on earth, but, how will he do that, what are his goals to achieve this?

Also, who summoned him? Was he summoned?

If he has not been on earth since Eden, what does he think of all of this?

Would you mind if we started your RP at the point you are walking away from the Farm?

His current goal would be to amass enough power that both survival and ruling would be feasible. He is slowly becoming aware of his limitations: which I can have him reason this out in the RP as well as his plans going forward.
My idea is that he WAS summoned by the masked men. They likely found an old tome or text that made mention of his name or his title "Dreadlord". They figured out how to summon him, but either made no attempt to find a binding spell, the binding went wrong, or something like that.
Since he hasn't been here since Eden, well... he's figuring stuff out. Most of his information is coming from the Allison's remains (her memories). He's taking time to sort through everything and to discover things for himself before he really goes all out in his plans.
Long story short: he is playing it safe for now.

I would be fine with starting my RP there, would you like me to start it, or you? And should there be a separate thread for it?
Apr 6, 2019 7:57 pm
There will be separate threads, and I can start it.

Alright. Can't wait. :)
