Okay, question time, :)

So, born into servitude sets up quite a tragic backstory, which is always rich in drama and story opportunity. First off are you going with a pet bird or snake? And what type of your chosen animal?

Who were you a servant to? What job did you fulfil as a servant? And given your parents are alive and well can I assume that they still serve whatever individual or family? How did you come to leave the heart of Nilfgaard? Was it your influential friend who got you out from under that life? Was it an opportunity to serve in the war to maybe get a better life, hence your training in the combat arts? Or were you conscripted and manage to escape somehow?

The first roll being romance, especially one so tragic is pretty dark, so I was thinking that he / she was a childhood friend / romantic partner and was perhaps kidnapped / sold under suspicious circumstances in the very latter part of that decade to a noble. In order to be trained in the arts of the courtesan when he /she comes of age. I want to avoid stories of intimacy involving characters so young. Who was he / she? Who was the noble?

Your second romance. Who as that? It was a happy one and presumably either ended on good terms or the two of you are still quite close? Are you together still or have you gone your separate ways? If not, do you still have feelings for them? Are they a Northerner or from Nilfgaard like you?

And then we have the curse. I ones that are written in the book are nice but most of them are at the top end of the scale and I'll be looking for something on the lower end, maybe the middle of the spectrum. The first part of this we need to work out is what caused it. It was your final event so this could have happened to you very recently, so how long ago was it? Days, weeks, months? Did you wrong someone (accidentally or otherwise) who cursed you? Did you disturb grave goods or a sacrament (accidentally or otherwise)? Did you commit a sin(accidentally or otherwise)? Is it an affliction that you caught? The Monstrous Curse is a nice one but the potential to devolve every interaction with NPC's into a fight to burn you is something I'd avoid for a randomly rolled curse. At the moment I'm looking at one of the Inactivity ones as a variant of the Haunting curse. Your character has been blessed / cursed to see the spirits of the dead, but they can sense your gift and ask you to help them complete their unfinished business. If you can't or wont then those spirits may become vengeful and hunt the target as they become wraiths. This gives you the opportunity to keep the bad part at bay but at the risk of talking to things others cannot see who will hound you once they realise you can see them without magic. How does that sound to you? The specifics on how you could cure yourself of the curse will not be known to you at the games beginning.

Everything else seems to be on point so the sheet should now be doable. If you run into any issues let me know.

I love the idea with the curse, let's use that one. I'll say he sought shelter in an old ruin. It was there he was blessed/cursed to see the spirits of the dead.

Since he can see/speak/hear them, and they can do the same, could they let him know things...ie treasure, warnings..etc?

That would depend on the situation, spirit, unfinished business, what they know or believe and what you do for them. But yeah I can see situations where it can be used to your advantage, :)

First Romance-
I agree about this and the young age. Let's say this was a close childhood friend that was kidnapped and forced into training as a courtesan.

Second Romance-
This one was the more traditional romance you'd expect. It ended on good terms and they both moved onto the next step in their lives.

The Curse-
I like the idea you came up with. This will tie into shortly after he left the Nilfgaardian military. As he was seeking shelter he came across an ancient ruined chapel/church in the woods. It was halfway to collapsing, but enough of the building was still up to provide adequate shelter. As he settled in for the night, he noticed an altar that was nearly covered by the dust and grime of being neglected for many years.

Something inside him moved him to clean the altar. As he did so, he felt as if he was completing some long forgotten task. That night he slept and in the morning he felt as if he was ready for anything. He also discovered the "reward" for his service. For good or I'll reasons he could see and speak to the ghosts or spirits of the dead.

Military Service-
He joined the Nilfgaardian military out of necessity. While his close friend (the Entertainer) bought his freedom, he needed a way to survive. Thus, he enlisted into the military. It was during the invasion of Temeria that he saw his first real battles.
It was also when he deserted the Nilfgaardian Infantry unit. His squad had been assigned to patrol duty. So as they were moving through the countryside, they encountered a Temerian patrol. During the battle, both squads suffered high casualties. The only survivors were one wounded Temerian soldier and my character. Having had enough killing for one day the two warily parted ways. My character went further into the woods, with no intention of reporting back to his command.

Current mindset-
Since his desertion, my character has been selling his skills however he can..hired muscle, protection, a guard, and even as a wandering mercenary.
