After the adventure with the Verons, the USS Potential had to be taken to a space dock for repairs after the damage it sustained in the fight against the Four. During this time, its crew has been awarded two additional weeks of shore leave to recover from the incident.
While the crew has been spread out over different locations throughout the galaxy – some visiting their home worlds, some already having had plans for their next vacation that they have simply moved forward – most of the bridge crew has decided to visit Tallya Resort, a famous destination for spacefleet shore leave on the planet Caspera-13, pride of the spacefleet terraforming department.
Marbo Zlam, after a thorough psychological evaluation has been temporarily suspended from duty to recover from the trauma he suffered during the encounter with the Verons. He has been awarded a special service medal for his courage and ingenuity during this crisis and is currently being transported home to his home planet where he will take all the time he needs to recover before returning back to spacefleet duty.
Anatol Belka has been named the chief medical officer of the Potential due to Dr. Zlam’s absence. There is currently no assistant doctor assigned to the Potential but Dr. Belka is conducting interviews to find a suitable candidate.
Lorq has been reassigned to the medical vessel USS London where he will serve as Second Officer, putting him well on the path to becoming a Commander in the near future.
Alexandra Lloyd has been assigned to the Potential as its diplomat. She has been honored for her help in the Veron negotiations and there are rumors floating around about a promotion in her future although there are still more than a few higher-ups who oppose this due to her history.
Embis Mezron has, due to glowing recommendations by Cass, been promoted from Lieutenant Junior Grade to a full Lieutenant, rapidly advancing her career. She has also been moved from the helm into the science department where she now takes the position of Zephyr’s night shift counterpart, directly reporting to him as her superior officer.
Zephyr Borealis has received extensive medical and psychological treatment and has managed to mostly recover from his trauma. He has been cleared to return to duty after the shore leave. He has also been awarded with a medal for his admirable work under extreme circumstances.
Cassandra Darcy has left the Potential soon after the Potential was removed from the Veron situation to report on the events to the Admirals. She has only returned to the ship days before the shore leave begins. There have been some rumors of her reassignment but nothing concrete yet.
Moira Bruce has been interviewed by the admirals extensively after the Veron encounter. While she has not been formally awarded for her service, her work during this crisis seems to have earned her a lot of respect in spacefleet command.
Shawna Cassano has remained in command of the Potential for th time being. More than once has the possibility of giving her her own command been raised in these talks but her youth and only very recent promotion to First Officer are holding her back in that regard. Nevertheless, her word seems to hold significant weight among the admirals, especially in regard to the Veron situation.
It has been a bit over three weeks since the prisoner exchange with the Verons happened. Everyone who got injured during the last episode has completely recovered by now (unless the player decides they want to keep some cool scars, in which case those remain).
You have flown the Potential to space dock and have been transported by another ship to Caspera-13. Information on the Resort and Planet can be found in this thread.
You have landed on the planet just hours ago and have just moved into your cottages in the seaside village Rugen Alpha (There are enough that nobody needs to share but if someone wants to, they are free to stay in one together).
The resort is not fully booked at the moment. You have not interacted with many people yet since you have just arrived but you’ve already noticed that there is a large group of cadets from the academy here at the moment. There are a number of other spacefleet officers here as well, most notably a group, including captain, from the USS Neptune, which is docked to the space station floating over the planet.
While the hotel staff are not spacefleet, they are employed by the Consortium as the entire resort was built as a shore leave location for spacefleet and while it is not required to be part of spacefleet to take your vacation here, it is rare for civilians to come here for their vacation. You have noticed some people here who appear to be civilians, however.
Have a look at the info on the planet that I’ve posted and let me know where you’re planning to go first and I’ll set up some initial threads. You can group up or spread out however you want for now (although it’s probably more fun if you stay at least in pairs).
