In re: bonus skills, yes. The 20 point increments stack, but professional skills dont.

For example, Athletics is 30 at base. A Marine Raider might have Athletics in their skill list at 50, so you replace the 30 with 50. Then, if you add bonus points to it, youd raise it to 70.

Excellent. That's what I did. I submitted a link to my sheet as it stands.

Some questions I had:

Do you as Handler want to know anything further about our bonds or motivations?
How should we handle gear and weapons?
Should we fill out the personal details and notes?

I'll take a look at bonds and motivations once everything's submitted and I get a chance.
Gear is sorta loosey goosey. There's some standard issue stuff, depending on your profession and agency. Besides that, it mostly lives in the realm of "well, what seems reasonable?". They detail Federal Agents gear pretty thoroughly. I'll get to it over the next couple of days.
Fill out as many personal details and notes as you can. You're all members of DG already, presumably, so you might want to think a little about how you got involved with the conspiracy. This is in '95, so the structure of the conspiracy is a bit different. Now, the Program employs specialists from all different federal agencies, compartmentalizing it to the point where many of them don't even realize what they're really working on. In the 90s, the conspiracy was 'out in the cold' - ie, extralegal (though your Agents likely all think it's a legitimate government program. many layers of paranoia here, as you can tell).

Point of all this is that, due to the way they recruited in the 90s vs present day, all of you have had to seen some shit in your work that would have left the conspiracy no choice but to bring you in to the fold.

Oh, another thing they suggest which idk if its in the quickstart rules but, once you're done with everything, articulate for yourself something you like/respect about your Agent, and something that you don't like/respect about your Agent.

Wasn't feeling the physician angle, so I went for special ops using the basic quickstart template (because somebody has to try to shoot the beast and fail :) ). Submitted my character, but will still continue to fiddle with it somemore.

Perfect. A fed, a specop and an anthropologist/historian is a nice mix for this operation. Cave, if you're still looking for straightforward plain jane, I'd rec either going with a Federal Agent or even a Police Officer at this point. But if there's something you've found that tickles your fancy, by all means go for it.

Any questions about anything, Cave? Once you submit a character we'll get started. No rush, just let me know if you need any help.

OK Done? Check it over, I just took it off the pregen so idk if everything is correct.

Looks good, Cave! Can I ask you to do me a huge, huge, huge favor though?

And pick a different, less silly name? Lmao

On the one hand, I don't really care, and it makes me feel like a humorless jerk to even ask, but also I am already getting a headache thinking about Agent Pickles.

Can we assume that we (or some of us) own cars? And also the equipment listed in the Agent's Handbook relevant to their profession? I can't imagine Agent King walking around with his full tactical vest and weapons, but I figure he'd have it in his trunk, to be worn when the mission demands it.

Kirby deffintaly has a handfull of weapons, knife on his leg, pistol in chest holster kinda thing.
Jun 13, 2019 4:48 pm
Yeah, I mean, I think it's fine to say there are 2 cars available between the 4 of you. As far as equipment goes, the idea of a "go bag" is pretty much it - you might have a sidearm on you at all times, but generally you wanna be as inconspicuous as possible given the circumstance. You have your gear close (ie in the trunk) if you decide it's time to strike, though.

GM, I had too much time on my hands this weekend so I decided to tinker with my character. I originally had him as a straight up spec ops, but since CaveJohnson has the Solid Snake angle covered, I figured I'd do a spec op from an intelligence angle instead, using the Intelligence Case Officer build, and inspired from the CIA section of the Agent's Handbook, but reskinned as British Secret Service. Hope that's ok, since we haven't made any major rolls or calls in the game yet. I think it gives a good spread of skills between all 4 of us.

Fine with me!
