Hello and welcome to the Tales from the Fenix Game Forum. There are just a couple of areas that I need to highlight before you start posting applications or playing in our game or just simply chillin.

Posting Refresher

** Edit. Spell check. Preview your post. Edit your post if necessary. Please do not post messy or badly edited posts. If you are in a hurry and need to post quickly, come back as soon as you can and fix it.

** This forum is PG13. So is this forum. We may stretch it from time to time in creating atmosphere, but we can't break it.

** Posts must move the game forward and give the DM something to work with. Writing a post with nothing in it but thoughts does not drive action forward.

** Please attempt to be proactive. If you intend to wait for something to occur before acting, you need to make that clear in the OOC section of your thread as well, so gameplay doesn't fumble and lag.

** Please do not assume the voice of another player-character or of the DM (no god modding or puppeting). Some leeway will be given from time to time if the situation seems fair, but in general, writing what another character's reaction might be or what the results of your actions are comes across as rude and has a tendency to annoy other players if done too often or egregiously.

** Please try and let someone know if you can't post so we don't wait around too long.

** Sometimes two or more players are on at the same time and get into a flurry of excellent roleplaying. It's tempting to go on for pages and pages. It's tempting for the DM too as the game is really moving finally. Try to bear in mind that those who aren't currently logged on might want to contribute and don't let the action roll on too far in time.

** As a followup: for those who miss an awesome exchange, it is acceptable to retcon yourself into the action in your next post as long as the retcon doesn't materially change the previous posts, and as long as you conclude at the current point in time. If someone's posted a long speech, it's usually frowned upon to say you interrupted them in the middle of it. Work it out first with the GM and other player if you want to do it.

** Avoid metagaming: In general if you the player know something but your character shouldn't know it, then have your character act accordingly.

PbP Formatting Refresher

** Please put quotation marks around spoken words and make them bold. We will not use the Quotes Tag in IC.

** Thoughts that are unspoken will be italicized and coloured. Choose a colour for your character and be consistent. Try to choose colours that look good and are easy to read.

** OOC and Note tags will be permitted. I am honestly not accustomed to the way OOC tags are used here in GP but I will learn.

** I use spoilers to "hide" game mechanics whenever possible, such as DC values, and often use it as an OOC tag.

Sample Post
https://i.imgur.com/1EsSncz.jpg A wave of frustration-born fury finally drove Grognar to raise his fist against his employer. Though it is fairly common for a Half Orc to have short patience and even shorter tempers, Grognar rightfully saw red as the human once again turned his back on the bargain.

"I will no longer be your slave again!" the half orc snarled, his tusks bared and his right hand already hurtling towards his employer's head.

Years of humiliation under a slave master's boot finally gushed to the surface. I will not be a slave to anyone again!

Posting Add-Ons

** In order to speed things up, it's usually okay to post probable actions your character will take depending on what happens next - a sort of "if, then" statement. Don't go overboard with this.

** If you want your PC to attempt an activity that you think may require an ability check, you may do so. I will try to anticipate every possible action that may occur so hopefully I can provide the necessary penalties or bonuses prior to your attempt. If you have penalties or bonuses that you are not aware of, I will indicate these in my next post and adjust your final score accordingly.

** Definitely no need for dice rolls on Passive Checks.

** The use of Hero points and Inspiration points MUST be declared prior to a roll.
