Looking for a Pathfinder DM
Be sure to read and follow the guidelines for our forums.

I had originally posted looking for a solo AP. In doing so I came across two other players that wouldn't mind playing in an Adventure Path. Kingmaker and Skull & Shackles are the two top choices.
I'm hoping to find a willing DM.

I can do it.
I enjoy Pathfinder and like GM'ing PbP. I've been on the site since around Feb. of this year, and am currently playing in a Ruins of Azlant game, so I'd prefer not to run that one. I've GM'd PbP games on RPG Crossing, but none here. I could be ready to go no later than Sept. 8.

Any chance you guys would be interested in a 5th player? I know Pathfinder like the back of my hand and pretty low maintenance as far as needing help goes.

I’d do either, to be honest. What would everyone like to play? Let’s take a vote!
Aug 31, 2019 10:45 pm
Both seem cool. Kingmaker seems like good old fashion fantasy RP and Skull and Shackles Pirates of the Caribbean
Aug 31, 2019 10:51 pm
So many races and classes in Pathfinder I lose track lol.
Gathlain are another plant humanoid.
I think pathfinder even had it's own warforged, wyrwood ?

I even offered to let them build from Treeant and Dryand using the Level Adjustment rules in 3.5e lol.

I agree, both seem good. A good old fashioned pirate campaign would be different so I'll vote for Skull and Shackles.
Aug 31, 2019 11:23 pm
Oh, here you are. I don't know how I missed this. I would absolutely adore a chance to play either of those APs, although I do love the idea of playing a swashbuckling pirate lass, so I'd probably lean more toward Skull & Shackles.

I am okay with either. I'm in a evil Kingmaker already so it might be weird to have another version of it.
Sep 1, 2019 12:11 am
I almost feel like voting King Maker so it gets some love. I still would like to try a Cleric of Besmara if we go Skull and Shackles though

I don't think i've ever done a pirate -themed- campaign. I've done naval sessions but that less of a focus and more like the obligatory stealth sequence in most FPS games.
Sep 1, 2019 12:19 am
I'm just personally not really into pirates but I can make it work if that's what people are more interested in
Sep 1, 2019 12:19 am
Oh gteat now I have stealth Final Fantasy music in my head. LOL

I'm actually a bigger fan of horror genre, myself over pirate or politics but I'm not sure if Pathfinder even has any good horror APs. I always ran my own campaigns.

I have heard of Carrior Crown. I will now dilute things and vote independently, thereby wasting my vote and enraging both parties.
Sep 1, 2019 1:02 am
I'm using some Pathfinder horror adventure path with CESN to do a comparative test run between PF and the system he's developing. I can't say if that AP is any good though. We're not actually rping, just rolling through the encounters

Hmmm. Rather full here … But I do love a good game. Might be dropping as much as 4 games.

Ahoy, me hearties! Skull & Shackles be winnin' with full sails! Lest there be a strong case against it, you scurvy dogs best read up on the Pirate's Code! Savvy?
It's Labor Day here in the states, and I'm with family through tomorrow. I plan to have the game forums set up no later than Tuesday. Watch here for updates! In the meantime, check out the free Player's Guide at the link above.

I'll consider any votes through this evening. However, if there aren't any strong objections, we'll go with Skull & Shackles. Seems like it'll be a lot of fun! Are we going with 20 point buy for attributes ?
I am thinking Changeling Cleric of Besmara.

Does anyone know which class is best for swashbuckling action? I know there's a swashbuckler class, but there's also a buccaneer, corsair, freebooter...
Sep 2, 2019 11:57 am
Depends on the pirate you're looking for. If it's a Jack Sparrow then Rogue might actually work better considering his acrobatics, sleight of hand, picking locks and persuasion skills. If you're looking for a Sinbad type then probably Swashbuckler. It's all in what you want, really.
Sep 2, 2019 12:02 pm
I haven't looked into Skull and Shackles yet really but if a lot of it is spent on a boat, I would be interested in playing a druid with an aquatic animal companion like a shark or dolphin
Not sure how feasible that would be in the adventure path

I'm going to go Vampire Hunter. I want something that's got a 'cursed' vibe but is more combat oriented than Warlock. It's got swim as a class skill so I'm sure it'll be fine.
Sep 2, 2019 3:57 pm
Could not care less if there was, lol. It's really a misleading name. If you read the class abilities it more comes off as if a Paladin and a Rogue had a baby and that baby didn't turn out healthy and it really soured the relationship, leading to a brutal divorce and then that divorce was a class in Pathfinder.
Sep 2, 2019 4:05 pm
Hrmmm ok well I think someone needs to be a rogue type.
We need a Swashbuckler, or Gunslinger...Hmmm maybe I will Multi into Gunslinger though my dex is not sparkly enough

Is anyone else having a hard time having it save weapons on the character sheet ?
It erases them every time I save the character sheet

You have to fill the damage field or weapons won't save. Armour bonus or armour won't save

I’ll get private threads set up when I’m at a laptop. The mobile incarnation of this site is...not easy to use.

I’ve been reading the AP. How familiar is everyone with the first adventure? I can’t stress enough to download the Player’s Guide. It will help you plan your character.

I didn't see any character limitations. I built a Kitsune Unchained Rogue. Let me know if I should change anything.
